Problem with unloaded assets for MyHouse.wad?

Hiya people, I'm new to this forum, I looked for help on this issue I have on reddit, but that turned up with no results.

So. Here's the issue - when I boot up gzdoom with the myhouse.pk3 file, it loads fine (as in the mechanics all work), but I get an error message in the terminal (image 1), and when I get into the game, half of the textures are just matte black (images 2 and 3). If I load the game with just doom2.wad, I get another error message straight away, and don't even get to the actual game (image 4).

My GZDoom version is 4.10.0, but I've tried 4.11.3.a as well.

 

 

I've got no idea what to do about this, and I've heard that y'all are the experts on this. I'm new to the modding scene altogether, so I'd love some help?

Are you running this with standard Doom II (unmodified doom2.wad), or are you loading other mods on top of it besides myhouse.pk3? The status bar in your screenshot does not look like the stock Doom assets. Neither does the grass or the background of the console, for that matter.

Yes, it's just standard doom, as far as I'm aware. I was also quite confused about the lack of the DoomGuy's sprite on the status bar, and the rest of the status bar too. I've attached a screenshot of the folder with all the files required in it (image 1), maybe I've got something there that shouldn't be, or don't have something I should? 
EDIT: Sometimes, the status bar entirely disappears, and it ends up looking even weirder (image 2). I don't do anything different at all, but sometimes it just does that. Oh, and some of the enemy sprites look incredibly weird in some frames - I think they're from Freedoom??

The doom2.wad in that folder isn't proper (the filesize is wrong). From the screenshots it looks like an old or incomplete version of Freedoom -- try replacing that with the doom2.wad from your regular game install directory (e.g. Steam if you have it installed that way) or try a more recent version of Freedoom if you don't have Doom2 purchased (though it's highly recommended to play myhouse with proper doom2.wad, no guarantees it will work well with Freedoom, since it wasn't made for it).

OH yeah that makes sense then. I've downloaded the proper version of doom (not sure what happened with that old file...) and it works great now!

The status bar is still weird though, and I'm not sure why.

That's the fullscreen HUD without status bar. You can adjust with the +/- keys (or rather, =/- since + is shift-= on US QWERTY keyboard layout).

Hope you make it to the "end"... Out of all the things I click to download this is still a banger above all, I'm a fan of no exit maps, this one did it right...funny after all this time. I don't think of this map as a meme.... hopefully that aspect of the wad has settled down, looking forward to maps obviously inspired by such works. Hope you make it!

Thanks mate :-) Yeah, I think it's not a meme anymore - I found it through a friend who recommended it to me because of how much I love House of Leaves. I've been playing it almost nonstop now, I love it so so much.

Just as a final addendum to this entire thread - My eyes are Opened. I feel Enlightened now. I did not expect a Doom 2 mod to make me experience so many Emotions and Thoughts. 
(I got the "good end" btw :-) it only took me a total of around 6-8 hours and definitely didn't include a weird sleepless night with a dream about the House.)
