It's a really small crop from one of his youtube video thumbnails from a while ago. A friend sent it to me, and I thought it looked funny.

 

Haven't watched thunderfoot since I was a young teenager, lol.

What's that? A2Rob made another small WAD?
What's that? It's yet another slam dunk from him?

That's supposed to be a surprise? But everything I've played from A2Rob has been great and this is no different. Had a good time with this, exactly the kinda thing I can just shut my brain off for a couple hours and blast through. Finished every map on UV with 100% kills in about two hours and forty minutes.

This was a lovely set of maps! I love the Area 51 visuals you keep exploring in this series. Poor security guy. When does he get to retire? All this shit is way above his paygrade anyway.

Just for the record I recently finished this, and I think it was very cool! My favorite maps were MAP07, MAP11 and MAP13 (plus the one with the square arena, MAP03 iirc), and overall I really enjoyed the cheesy 80s action movie vibe - not sure if it was intended, but that's the feeling I got from the wad between the music, the ridiculous story and the Rambo intermission screen :p

A generally lovely set of well designed levels that gently ramp up the difficulty

I have to just commend the awfulness of that bit with the red key in level 15, with the bucket of archviles in the middle of the room and barons of hell acting essentially as gun turrents behind the false wall so there's precious little safe space to hide in.  Absolutely awful room to beat, well done.

I can't remember if the archviles get automatically crushed once you tag all the switches, but yeah, most of my deaths came from that room.

From what I could tell hitting all the buttons lets them out of the centre to come wreck you, but getting the key and going to leave trips the crusher on the barons on the outside.  But yes, that and the final arena of level 15 killed me many times.

Interesting choice by Rob, really makes you think whether you'd like to 1. Be bombarded by barons but keep the archies in a vulnerable spot or 2. Get rid of the barons but let the sorcerers loose so they can flank the hell out of you. Very thoughtful. I chose option 1.

Just started this and having fun with it, although I ran into an odd situation of having -1 bullets lol. I don't know if that's intended or a byproduct of something going on under the hood so to speak. I just found it curious.

 

Edit: Didn't realize someone had already brought this up.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out a way to fix that for the next release candidate.

RC3 is now available.

 

Chaingun glitch should be fixed now. Unfortunately I had to sacrifice the smooth frames, but now the ammo counter shouldn't dip below zero. Fixed various other bugs and graphical issues. Next release should be on idgames.

at the bottom of the "login" dialog box it says "continue without logging in" or somesuch. that should help.
