BonJoviStatue Posted November 20, 2023 I was scrolling through the internet, looking for Soviet-era commercials until I came across this ad from Soviet Estonia. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Argent Agent Posted November 20, 2023 In addition, I remember some terrifying poorly-animated (in 3d) commercials from the late 2000s/early 2010s in the U.S. for some marketing/mortgage or whatever? I can't remember what they were for exactly, but they looked like they were made as low-budget as possible and crammed as much information as they could into them. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chow Yun Thin Posted November 20, 2023 Boy, the weird things that pop up in my mind after I hit submit: Now I've heard of using tampons to plug up bullet entry wounds (no idea about the exit ones), but come on, even for comic effect. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Captain red pants Posted November 20, 2023 Hey here's a fun ad that my country, a place people insist is extremely laid back made in the 80's 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Panzermann11 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) There was a strange McDonalds commercial I remember seeing on the Internet when I was around ten. The ad has a girl with one of her legs apparently amputated calling on her phone in her bedroom, unaware that Ronald is hiding under her bed. A low-pitched voice then sings an unsettling tune afterwards. There was a similar ad where at the end, Ronald is seen calling in the dark, with the same exact damned singing. Needless to say, I was afraid to sleep alone because of that. EDIT: I found them after a short Google search. Based on the comments, apparently these aren't actual commercials, but rather from a Japanese comedy sketch. Edited November 20, 2023 by Panzermann11 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Dreemurr Deceevurr Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) They've been running this ad constantly during football games for a couple years now and it's astonishingly over the top for a desk chair. Edited November 21, 2023 by Dreemurr Deceevurr 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Panzermann11 Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) I'm pretty sure y'all remember these kind of commercials if you're around the Internet during the late 2000's-early 2010's. Apparently, the idea of these commercials is that these are scenes that would get you fall asleep, but then a screamer pops up and awakens you. Pretty clever for a coffee ad. chomorkuz Posted November 22, 2023 unfortunately, i don't have the video anymore but a couple of months back my mom was watching YouTube on the TV when an ad was shown of a cartoon pig on a green background moving its head up and down for like a minute before changing to a cartoon sheep doing the same thing for the last 30 seconds or so and that was it! no links, no associated names, no details, no nothing 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lizardcommando Posted November 22, 2023 I swear, the early-mid 2000's had some weird ass commercials, like those stupid singing spud monkeys from Quiznos. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tetzlaff Posted November 25, 2023 Ads often seem weird to me because I tend to overthink them. I see this as a visual clue for that and this as a reference for that, and then my wife explains me it was just a simple, one-dimensional joke. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
