@Misty I wish to add a couple of extra textures in my map, but you say in the first post to let you know first before adding them. How does this work ?

Your map is amazingly pretty, but I don't think you've used any of my textures. I only made a small set of doom textures and I haven't been able to continue making more of them because of time constraints. I still am crazy about the progress of this project, though!

Introduction:
 

You tried to escape from the biggest winter celebrations, but they still caught up with you in the [REDACTED] location. Now you need fight your way to get presents for your family and your beloved pet Daisy the Third. That won't be easy as a Snow Wave is sweeping globally in locations where snow shouldn't be. Will you manage to finish things in time?

Project guidelines:

+IWAD: Doom 2.
+Format: Boom format (complevel 9).
+Resources: Xmas Doom Sprites and 32in24-15_tex_v2
+Deadline: December 21th, 12 am(midnight) GMT 0. 
+Theme: snow x any other theme from resource pack.

 

Additional information:

 

+No slot reservation: there's no need to fill every slot in project.
+2 maps can be submitted, collabs are allowed if you feel the need.
+Map playthrough should last between 5 to 20 minutes. 
+If you feel that you won't manage to submit level in time, just talk to me, I might grant you extension depending how close you are to the finish line. 
+if you need some additional texture resources - talk with me first before adding them. 
+All maps must contain coop starts (4 players) and no softlocks.
+Be sure to include difficulty settings.
+As an alternative to midi music, you can use music modules, the best place to look at them is modarchive.org.
+Be sure show to some effort.

Me not have Christmas where Grungo lived in, but Looks nice, Looks uhh "90s" which in Grungo's time is many many moons in future. But then again, me am in future so does not matter. Anyways you go on good! this look promising in Grungo's view, Grungo thinks it's nostalgic and cute!

Comment: The sky is the default one that loads when you load the texture pack. I think the map is fairly easy but it's a little light on ammo in places. No other textures were used, Cheers! 🍻 😊

I've done...almost no work on this since my last post in this thread. I did a bit of work yesterday but it's still very far from being completed, and there's only 4 days left until the deadline. How late are extensions allowed to go? I can't guarantee I'll finish it even with an extension, though.

Even if I don't end up finishing it in time, I'll eventually finish it and publish it seperately from this project.

@Lord_Z and I didn't officially sign up prior to this because we honestly weren't sure if we would make it in time, but we managed somehow, haha! This map was another one that began as a whiteboard sketch, one which we were able to follow pretty closely. We hope you enjoy what we put together!

@Beubeu I've got around your level, it was quite the trip to play around on hmp skill. I found some things you might want take care for:

 

+I feel ssg should be introduced earlier, because it already puts player on the tough spot. I would also increase some ammo, health in medium skills too. Maybe add backpack too.

+I found midtexture bleeding into ground in software mode. You can fix it by drawing really small sector(like 1 map unit or pixel) and giving different light value, for example if both midtextures have same light value of 192, you can draw around small, barely visible sector and give that side light value of 191, engine will be tricked that light value changed and midtexture will stay in the place in software mode like in hardware mode. 

+ I feel hmp could cut some archviles and revs, I think I counted around 11 archviles. I would leave 1 archvile where 2 placed and in secret area where are 3 archviles, I would leave only 2. 

+ I feel scrolling lights quite weird at this location, maybe there are way to change them into something else or leave it static?

@JaySmithen I also gave a run of your map. I think this is first one that uses tracker music, that I really appreciate. I also liked gimmick with slippery ice. I feel, it looks a bit flat on icy surface, but I guess for 5 minutes level it works well. I didn't find any game breaking bugs, maybe placing couple more stimpacks and some ammo could work for clumsy players like me. Short and on point to summarise my experience and test.

I won’t put the SSG early, the first fight was design for the chaingun, but adding a backpack for the lowest difficulties sound like a good idea

Now as I think harder, you can make lights scroll vertically up or down using  scroll wall by offset action(can't remember full trigger name without looking at the  builder). It's just I found horizontal light scroll weird in my eyes, it's not much of complain tho.

Yaeh i agree, but for some reason i have never manage to make the scrolling up or down working
