There are no special difficulty based player starts, the only thing that affects the map layout is the switch that you press at the start (difficulty only affects monsters and items). As for the bars in the Egypt section, maybe I could quickly change the texture of the bars to indicate that you need a blue key for it.

Difficulty settings: All difficulties implemented with strong emphasis on UV Comment: It's a key hunt with 3 main fights/arenas. It is a quite packed map, I don't think it is that difficult but I've found the end result to be a little bit annoying with monster barriers

VERSION 1: DIFFICULTY SETTINGS AND ITEM PLACEMENTS MAY NOT BE FINAL, also there is final detailing to be done yet

@M4rsh I can't download your 3rd version of map update(it doesn't open up link), could you provide alt link for it? I'm compiling first alpha version of project. 


Otherwise, if anyone wants include different sky, just let me know, with mapinfo variations it won't be problem.

We have 19 maps submitted for this project so far(includes couple submissions in discord server)! It's more than I ever could hope for when I was thinking to host this project. I'll wait rest of submissions until Sunday evening from those who asked for extension. Playable public release will come out soon as possible.

UPDATE:

VERSION 2: Fixed the size of the red key arena, as fighting there was awkward and way too unbalanced. Some other rebalances to the rest of the map to make sure resources are enough. I've also added the UMAPINFO lump to the file.

Finally finished my map!

Title: Santa's Coal Mine

Difficulty settings: Implemeted, though UV can be difficult

Comments: Might be the hardest in the set, though I am not sure. Has some slaughter elements and may get somewhat tight on ammo if you don't infight.

I’d like to keep the map mostly the way it is, but if you want you have my permission to put one invulnerability on easy, and some more ammo as well (not too much tho). Can’t do it myself as I’m away for the time being.

Hi mappers!

I'm currently working on the snow system for the GZDoom features for this project (just as a nice touch) - if you need to update your map please refrain from doing so until I've posted the next compilation (the snow system relies on a placed thing system). If you need assistance extracting your map from the compilation please let me know as I'll have all your maps saved individually.

Hey @HEXWALKER be sure to submit map today, you're only one who we are waiting for. As long as it has exit and triggers work as intended it will be good, you will have opportunity to improve map in public beta release too.

It's here! It's Here! Only after way too long because I just got home a bit ago! (Late nights suck!) Expect some areas to not be as polished as I'd like. REALLY want to revisit this one later.

Despite the moody atmosphere, and snarling Demons, something feels..... jolly? Somewhere between about 8-15 minutes to complete, might be longer to 100% idk i didnt have time to check lol

Version 2 of my map as per the feedback. Changelog:

  • Added some more ammo and health.
  • Fixed two monsters being stuck together on ITYTD/HNTR.
  • Things that shouldn't appear in deathmatch no longer do.

It's okay, they can stay, unless you want turn them in sectors. It doesn't cause problems on my end.
