My account got locked for a few minutes... why?

I'm glad to be back on but that was weird. I may not have been active all that much here but I've been pretty busy with my projects and personal stuff at home and with friends. What caused me to get locked out? I was pretty worried.

You've barely posted in months. What exactly happened? What message came up?

I won't go into too much details for privacy reasons but I forgot to sign in a few times, found one of my notes in my laptop bag and tried at it again but when I tried that, a red bar told me my account was locked and told me to wait for a few minutes. But yeah I know I haven't posted in months. Mainly cause I've been busy with other stuff like I said. My profile wasn't compromised or anything but I dunno, it was weird.

I usually get locked up and back again for some reasons, I guess they do it if your inactive

The amount of times this happens in IT in general is damn astounding.

 

Especially when you tell the user so and they just snap back at you and say its not true.

 

Somehow they never apologize when it is found out that, in fact, they were using the wrong username/password combination for x amount of times.

 

I never really understood that. It's okay to admit you are wrong.
