Favorite Doom YouTuber?

Neurometry is just a fun person, very funny and to quote Xulgonoth "kinda painfully loud", and Spectere has a lot of knowledge of shit I haven't even heard of in the doom engine, and he'll just start talking about it, but he has Carmack eques knack for being really easy to listen to!

So far I think my main goto's are Doom Wads, Power Pak, Icarus Lives, and Doomkid. I used to watch midnight but after about a half dozen of his clickbait titles and never posting links to the mods he's covering, I tossed him like an old hat.

Nice overview, cool. Step 2 would be to go through this very thread and add all those you haven't got in your list already. (Batgirl fangirl comes to my mind for example, I'm sure I mentioned her.)

I got many names from this thread in fact but somehow they still have to be people I enjoy checking occasionally ..personal favorites etc. and that's why Midnight is going to stay off the list for me, I don't enjoy his voice at all. Checking your suggestion right now thank you.

Ok, then I misunderstood your intention. I thought you were going for a list as exhaustive as possible, regardless of personal taste.

Forgot I started this thread and yes, I agree with you as well, someone should make a list of all of them!

Someone who is really unknown but you all should take a closer look at is Phobos Amphitheater. He makes videos specifically about doom midis: history, analysis and so on. His channel is relatively new, but the four videos he has on there so far are really cool and fill a special Doom YouTube niche!

Just take this video about doom midis that use odd time signatures:

I agree that this is a great channel, but the person behind it is not really “really unknown”: It is Lightning Bolt Forever, actually one of the earliest DoomTubers being around. He put out his channel's 12th anniversary video just a couple of weeks back.

Holy crap, I also forgot to mention Gaming Room and ICARUSLIVES.

Not sure if he counts, since he's more Heretic than Doom, but DWars?

You're only hurting yourself if you haven't seen @Nirvana's content.  His interviews are great and the more recent "When Does It Get Fun" series is just about the best podcast on the creative process tied to Doom (and in general) on the site.  Do yourself a favour.

Arbys550 was my first look at super slaughter wads like Death in Excess, and vicariously viewing difficult wads is a good way of seeking reference from them. Plus he loves his John Hamm Stairs.

Brainfreezzzzz is another super-slaughter enthusiast, who recently chowed down on both the Junkfood wads without getting a tummy ache.

Clippy seems to be a multi-headed monster of playing new wads and making funny wads too. Fun to collaborate with as well.

I also have to shout out DavidN for all he did with RAMP and all his other ventures and Wad reviews. I'm looking forward to this year's RAMP!

I'll also shout out the other Doom playing bnnuy, Dwars.

MtPain27 makes great reviews of classic wads and competitors are few and far between, bingeable all the way through and always greatly anticipated.

For more modern mods and wads that turn Doom on its head and take it other places too, there's always IcarusLIVES.

i'm in the @ClumsyCryptid camp so imma say me. it me. i'm good. the bestly even.

but really though many of these suggestions are the long time stalwarts of the platform, so it makes sense. i'm a noob to the "game" of videos and streaming, but not at all new to the game of doom (since around 94 i've been playing, with some big gaps along the way).

MtPain27 is not only my favorite Doom-tuber, but probably my favorite youtuber of all time. Dean of Doom has just the right amount of sharp writing, interesting trivia, love for Doom and pure soul.

Decino's a cool guy, been subbed since 2019, but I'm not really into walkthroughs so I'm not an avid watcher.

Civvie is fun, but his show does gets repetitive if you binge it, and while he without a doubt reignited the love for Doom and boomshoots in general, his Doom content is really surface level. Also popularized "UV or bust" meme :'(

IcarusLIVES introduced me to gameplay mods way back then, so he should also get a mention, even if the content doesn't get beyond "hey look at that neat mod I found".
