Check out the release thread below: ❄️Merry Christmas everyone!❄️ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introducing this year's SLOTTER Team Christmas Community Project: 200 Line Christmas is a mini community project targeting MBF21 (complevel 21). The project is inspired by mine and NinjaDelphox's 200 Line Massacre and is the sequel to last year's 100 Line Christmas. As the 200 in the title suggests, each map will be limited to 200 lines at most. As mine and NinjaDelphox's projects have previously demonstrated, the line limit provides for fast but chaotic combat puzzle maps that do not drag or out-stay their welcome. With some extra MBF21 dehacked spice thrown in! Deadline: December 24th, 2023 (12am midnight CST on 12/24/23). Most of the project info can be found on the Discord server, but I will detail some of the rules here: 🔹 Project is in MBF21 format.🔹 Each map should have at most 200 lines. Any more will be rejected. There is no limit on vertices or things.🔹 Each map must use friction in some part. 🔹 Either slippery ice (144) and/or heavy snow (80). I selected values to make it easy for you. 🔹 Take a look at the test map for how to use friction in maps (it's based off linedef length).🔹 Each map must use at least one Gnome (SS Nazi). They are the only thing that counts towards the item count.🔹 Each map must end with a Christmas Tree decoration (floating skull rock).🔹 Each map must use some kind of Christmas midi!🔹 Only one map per mapper... for now.🔹 Mapping Deadline is December 24th, 2023 (12am CST on 12/24/23). This mapset will use 200lnmas-Tex which is based on the Doom Christmas Enhanced Resource with gameplay tweaks being a mix based off of 200 Line Massacre and Hell Revealations. You can download it from the Discord development server below. Dehacked stuff: Spoiler Weapon Changes: 🔹Candy Cane: does 4x as much damage. Berserk 8x.🔹Double Pistol: Shoots twice as fast.🔹Shotgun: Shoots slightly faster🔹SSG: Same old SSG🔹Chaingun: Shoots 2x as fast🔹Rocket launcher: Rockets move faster (cyberdemon rockets match vanilla)🔹Plasma gun: Pause after firing has been removed🔹BFG: Faster recover after firing. Monster / Thing tweaks: 🔹Cyberdemons have 2000 HP. 🔹Demons and Spectres can now be gibbed. 🔹Keens replaced blue swinging bells (Keens). 🔹SS Nazis replaced by runaway gnomes (every map is required to have one. they count as the only item count). New Monsters / Things: 🔹Imposter Imp (1506) - super fast imp monster that throws baron projectiles 🔹Snow Bunny (1507) - pacifist white bunny that follows you around. Can take teleports / trigger lift lines. 🔹Evil Eye Monster (1508) - evil eye that shoots plasma at you. Explodes on death. 🔹Will o' The Wisp (1509) - slow moving flying enemy that shoots rev missiles. On death, shoots rev missile at player. 🔹Falling Snow (1510) - decoration of falling snow 🔹Jolly 'o' Baron (1511) - Green Baron with 1500 health that shoots a bunch of red projectiles in a spray (similar to Demon Lord from STRAIN, but with a wind up before the attack). Will immediately attack fast when entering it's pain or melee state. Regarding textures, flats, and sprite refreshes, any new stuff added to this project will eventually be incorporated into the Doom Christmas Enhanced Resource. I plan on keeping that resource up-to-date as we improve assets. There are some stuff like the new MBF21 custom enemies and graphics (HUD, titlepic, palette) specific for this project, that I'm unsure if it should be included in the main resource. Dark Pulse Posted December 14, 2023 (edited) I'll see if I can crank something out over the weekend, though admittedly it doesn't help the deadline is just before my vacation would begin. :P I already got a name in mind, at least. Arsinikk Posted December 18, 2023 (edited) Pushing the due date for the project a tiny bit to allow mappers a bit more time: December 24th, 2023 (12am midnight CST on 12/24/23). Just a little reminder that even though "slaughter" is in the project name, you don't necessarily have to make a slaughtermap. It seems this caused a bit of confusion for some. :) The project has some slaughtery maps, but we also currently have maps that are NOT slaughter. Those extra two days help me like you wouldn't believe, since I've been fighting what might well be a case of post-COVID messing with my guts and it's been having me be wiped out much of the week so far. At least I've got an easy and breezy workday Friday, but I gotta get through a long workday tomorrow first... Right now it's set as Saturday-into-Sunday midnight, but tbh I'm a bit flexible. If you still need some extra time to complete it, I can allow that. The goal is to put out the project Christmas morning-ish CST-time, so just keep that mind as I still need to compile everything before then.
