Amalgoom: Mixing Doom and Doom 2 [Special announcement on page 8!]

It's been quite some time, but I can confidently say we are in the final stretch. We have almost all the maps, and they have been tested and bugs and softlocks have been corrected for the most part. I want to announce to all the mappers that still haven't submitted maps that our final deadline will be march 28th. If you still have a map that is unfinished for this project, this would be the time to either find a comapping partner or give up the slot. We won't hold it against you, specially if you picked up more than one map. It's tough! Many things have happened since this project started, but I hope you are all doing well. I'll put a list below just to remind the mappers to report their progress, and to update the status for those who are wondering.

Map14 - @HEXWALKER - Hope you're doing fine, man! 
Map15 - @EagerBeaver - How's it going, EB? We're anxious to play map15!

Map23 and Map27 - @mr-around - Hey, mr-around. Are you sure you can finish both maps in time? You're on our server so you can ask for help there. 
Map29 - Formerly @HEXWALKER's, but he gave up the slot due to time constraints and it now belongs to the one and only @plums. Welcome aboard!

Besides those, most of the maps are mostly taken care of. After we gather the last maps that are missing, do some rounds of testing and adjustments, we will start packing the final version of the WAD. We were planning on having two different versions, one that was episodic, like Doom, and another that was continous like Doom II, but we are just going to make it a full continuous megawad, since it would demand too much time and effort from project leads and mappers alike. But the surprises may not have ended yet... Stay tuned!

hey! Uploading both MAP21 and MAP27. THey are both unfinished so you could see their early progress. If someone wishes to comap with me (or even finish the maps, so they could be playable) this would great. Note: there are tons of bugs

Yes, that's a problem that I have been having with the map order. The maps were reordered and I always get confused. Rest assured, it will be fixed in the final release.

From what I remember now, Grungo, four or five maps. Then we'll go into the final adjustments stage, things like that.
Regarding plutonite, if something like this ever comes along, @DoomGappy and I won't be the leaders. But an interesting idea, no doubt.

Just doing the last roundup of mapper tagging for the final deadline of March 28th. Even though I know how some of these maps are going, but people who are following the project (like Grungo, for example) don't. Here it goes.

 

Map14 - @HEXWALKER - I know you're almost there, man. Keep it up!
Map15 - @EagerBeaver - Hey, EB. How's the final stretch treating you?

Map21 and Map27 - @mr-around - mr-around has decided to comap his slots. I did map21 with him, and Map27 will be comapped with DankMetal, Tamara Mochaccina or me.
Map29 - @plums - I am eager to see what you're cooking, friend!

Besides this, we have started building the credits file. I ask you that you read the list of mappers and composers below and tell me if there's anyone missing.

@EagerBeaver, @HEXWALKER and @plums, your deadline is tomorrow. If you can send me even an incomplete file, that would suffice. We will probably allow everyone a grace period to polish what we have, since we will still need to do feedbacks and bug hunting. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up here.

why not just wait a little bit? you so far ahead, if you not wait for the last few crop grow, harvest bad! give them week, grungo think, me not understand project fully, but if 3 people out of 32 not done and have progress made, maybe it best to wait for them a little bit

Don't worry, Grungo. Even though the deadline is tomorrow, we'll talk to whoever can't deliver the map on time, and help in any way we can.
We just don't want people to get into other projects and forget about Amalgoom, since we want to release the finished project soon.
I can assure you that the end result is looking very good and that there will be surprises, perhaps even for you.

It would be sort of weird for them to nominate mentionate their own work. Perhaps Grungo could do that since he is not (?) a part of amalgoom team? Although it would also be weird to mention a mapset that hasn't actually been (fully) released yet. I can see that you are excited about this project but how can you judge something fairly and honestly without having actually played it yourself?

No one in the project is trying to reinvent the wheel. By the way, @Grungo, had the wheel already been invented in the timeline you came from?
