I'm from Canada and pineapple in pizza is a common topping here. They call pizza with ham and pineapple as "Hawaiian" even though it doesn't even exist in Hawaii.

I fucking love it but it's gotta have pineapple, ham AND bacon for it to work.  It's got a really nice sweet savoury flavour.  Without bacon it's really lacking something, I haven't tried it without ham but that might feel like it's missing some heft.  This is usually the way it's made around here except for the odd place that fucks it up, or someone orders a custom pizza and fucks it up.

I like it. If YOU don’t like it, leave it and leave everyone else who likes it. It’s pizza toppings, it’s not like pineapple on pizza lovers are as bad as furries or twitter users. It’s not that deep.

 

Also, pineapple is special. It’s the only fruit that you see in pizza. Leave it that way.

I tend to order a pineapple/jalapeño pizza at any pizza delivery place to see how they compare. Not always my go-to, but I do quite enjoy it. 

 

Being very antagonistic over it just seems to be a meme-like response than anything.

I like it for sure. That sweet taste just made me obsessed. I also like pineapples in chinese food  like stir-fried pineapple chicken ( here for more ): Sauté diced chicken with pineapple chunks, bell peppers, and onions. Add soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for flavor. Serve hot over rice. Enjoy!
