Your best film of 2023

Film critics chose Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" as the best film of 2023. I haven't seen the film. But judging by the trailers and reviews, it’s really good, although it’s a bit heavy for the Christmas mood.
In my opinion, the best film of the year is “Tetris” by Jon S. Baird. And although he is criticized by Russians for being too hyperbolic, I think he hit the nail on the head. Moreover, Pajitnov also praises him. He really amused me and raised my spirits, because I know from myself what it is like to work in a Soviet/Russian scientific institution, and what kind of bureaucratic order reigns there.

What's your best film of the year?

The only movie i saw this year was Rise of The Beasts, and it's FAR from being the best movie of the year. Hell, it's not even the best TF movie, but i liked it a lot, i had a good time watching it, and it was nice going to the cinema after a long time.

Remember guys, you have all the right to like "bad" things

I actually do not remember how many 2023 releases I have seen this year, but if I were to pick a favorite, I would go with Missing (2023).

I have even rewatched it a couple of times, which is extremely rare these days.

Thought about this some more. Most stuff was just kind of there. Perfectly acceptable but nothing great. So probably Transformers Rise of the Beasts wins by default because Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime is always epic even when the material isn't.

It is totally a Movie for all the Doom heads out there! Alot of evil spirits, death, blood and hell even the chainsaw came up!

Yes, documentaries are fine too.

In which case probably the Nat Geo doco with Albert Lin showing the AMAZING LIDAR findings in South America. Cannot seem to find the name right now but it's truly jaw dropping to discover that for all the clear sophistication of early South American civilisations, they were actually even more amazing than that with countless structures still to be explored.
