"GRAVED", Community Project (UNFINISHED)

INFO:

GRAVED is a 32 map large limit-removing community project which has been in development since ~2021, which targets Doom II. The target for the maps are a limit-removing source port, so if it can run in something like Crispy Doom (excluding extra features it adds, like sky transfers,) then it should be fine. You're encouraged to test your maps in Software and OpenGL in something, like DSDA-Doom for example, to make sure the map renders fine in both renderers. Anyone can join, but try your best to flesh out maps well. Basically, the barrier for maps is something above a startan-only maze or a scribble in a map editor. Anything above that should be fine. Make sure your map runs in something limit removing compatible, like DSDA-Doom on compatibility level 2 or Crispy Doom. Collaboration maps are welcome too.

 

If you participate in GRAVED, you'll have a guaranteed slot in the sequel when it's started, if it comes around.

RESOURCES:

There's not many custom resources, but one or two extra custom resources are fine. Just don't try to import 35 custom textures and the entirety of OTEX and Doom64 Textures along with plenty of texture errors, and you'll be fine.

 

MAP THEMING:

Maps follow the same normal Doom 2 structure, so the map theming goes as:

MAP01 - MAP20 are all mostly Earth and Mars themed, but try to stick closer to the assigned themes.

 

MAP21 - MAP30 are mostly hell themed, but overrun or hell-infested cities are fine too.

Just think something mostly akin to something in hell, or something hellish.

Theme mix-ups are fine too, like for example, a somewhat overrun city around the end of Episode 2, or a Power Plant in a small city or industrial area in the middle of E1.

 

Episode 1: MAP01 - 10 is Tech-base or UAC base or something similar

 

Episode 2: MAP11 - 20 is City and/or industrial

 

Episode 3: MAP21 - 30 is Hell themed.

 

Secret maps: MAP31 and MAP32 are secret maps, so they can be whatever.

Decided to take out MAP07 and MAP23 since I don't really think those were good. Still probably making MAP09 and MAP17 though.

MAP09 almost done, just need to finalize balancing and maybe some more polish. MAP07, MAP18, MAP22, MAP23, and MAP27 are open still. BTW, MAP30 is a collab map, anyone can contribute.
