ArmedMeerkat Posted December 15, 2023 (edited) Hey! This is Meerkat, was a former Doomworld user about 5 years ago (@Morpheus666), After a databreach and a loss of my account, paired with a general lack of interest and burnout on my part, i quit Doom modding, Just recently got back into the wonderful world of Doom modding, and as i step back into the groove and remember how to use the dusty old DB2, i seem to be lacking a sorta motivation for the series i've gotten used to, Anyone have a tips or ideas for how to get back into modding after a long period of time of abscense? Chipper35 Posted December 16, 2023 I'm not a modding super star, but there is SO MUCH that can be done in this game now design-wise......3-D models hardly scratch the surface. Just the ability to create worlds within worlds......... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
lukasxd Posted December 16, 2023 People nowadays use "Ultimate Doom Builder" as the most updated version of DB2 (I guess is a fork) i'm too old to get into this new boat so i stick to DB1. Motivation varies a lot, try making a map about something you experienced. Go to places, watch movies, anything can be used as a motivation or an a idea to start the process for a mod or a map. Start with something easy, write down your ideas and when you suffer a block or something just turn off for a while, don't feel like you are forced to deliver something great right away, and most important, enjoy the process. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Misty Posted December 16, 2023 It will be unrelated, but you can regain your old account back if you message moderators about it if you wish. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
prfunky Posted December 16, 2023 Yes, play Monsta BBQ. If that doesn't get you in the mood to mod, what could? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
