p0ny>< Posted December 17, 2023 (edited) greetings, some day I had the idea to create a photorealistic kind of thing in doom. your attention here - my forest concept-wad in vanilla doom btw can't make a forest too big w/o hall of mirror effect ( big maps = hof effect for some reason )but I know how to fix it. I posted this just to see what yours opinion of my hobby "vanilla2limit" is and how much sense it makes at all to make ample megawads, and yeah its my first post also. Obsidian Posted December 19, 2023 Ah yep, so you're using untextured linedefs to simulate depth in the liquid sector: you could probably take it a step further and have a custom flat that just superimposes a transparent liquid flat onto some dirt or rocks to really sell the idea. It's just a 4kb file with a set of colours from the pal and if you use import smth with alpha channel its will just paint'd to black :l 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Lemme show you what I mean. I popped FWATER1 and FLAT10 into Paint.net and set the water layer to 160 opacity. It's not perfect, but it has the potential to create a convincing enough effect in vanilla (with all the required animation, of course). 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
