How it looks in action? That's looks like combination of texture and colormap/playpal hackery to me.

You got me hah, even though there's a lot more subterfuge, for go round spend visplanes and other limits bypasses

i dont use code even more than dehack(if you about ACE-style modding or smth), its like to take roll or do oil paintings for me

Looks nice! The litmus test is seeing if it holds up in-game ;) Vanilla maps with unique designs and/or tricks always peque my interest.

I hate trees. They just suck away all the oxygen.

Wait we're trees?! I thought I we were people... damn that's crazy!

Ah yep, so you're using untextured linedefs to simulate depth in the liquid sector: you could probably take it a step further and have a custom flat that just superimposes a transparent liquid flat onto some dirt or rocks to really sell the idea. It's a little janky-looking in practice (particularly in more modern ports), but honestly that just contributes to the charm. :P

sounds awesomeness but we have bypazz 4 do transparent flats? It's just a 4kb file with a set of colours from the pal and if you use import smth with alpha channel its will just paint'd to black :l

Yeah, actual transparent flats aren't something vanilla can do. Lemme show you what I mean.

I popped FWATER1 and FLAT10 into Paint.net and set the water layer to 160 opacity. It's not perfect, but it has the potential to create a convincing enough effect in vanilla (with all the required animation, of course).

Bro really made a whole mini presentation to explain this. You really didn't have to do that, but my god you have my respect.
