I realise a lot people interprets episode 6's theme wrong, so instead of going extra mile of rejecting people's map, I'll change the episode overall context.

So don't worry episode 6 people keep doing  your thing, I'll go figure out a new theme.

@fai1025 I think the idea I have for my second map just isn't working out and I'd probably burn myself out if I continue working on it, and I don't have any other ideas at the moment. So I think it'd be better if I free up map 17 slot. I hope maybe someone else wants to join the project?

this is E4's secret map

 

MAP NAME: Video Game

MIDI: MAP05 midi of FreeDoom2
DESCRIBTION: This a secret map which the gimmick is video game as the title suggest, there's three mini game in this map, archvile stealth mission, projectile hell platforming, and pinky pacman. the story is that Doomguy travelling between teleporters, and he stop at a station of sort that need to do some computer work to activate the next teleporter, but he stumble upon some games in the computer, so he deside to take a break, well until the computer go hacked by demons.

You can kinda fix it by changing the sky box but your map would be the odd one out

May I claim MAP17? I have an experimental idea in mind with the episode theme but uncertain if it'll work out just yet, but would rather claim now than miss out.

Episode 6 could have a theme of experimentalism and shattered reality along with the themes already there (just an idea)

Just a heads up you'll need to have a secret exit in your level, since I think others in the episode probably already have extensive progress on theirs

Can I get a custom sky texture for MAP30? I found a neat one that might work well. Also since it’s the final level, should it still end in a death exit + teleport?

I can maybe get that skytex to work just make sure it fits Doom's or OTEX's art style, also for the final level I'd still have the death exit and teleporter, since it's technically not the final level, I planned to have the credit map connect to it

I'm sorry but I'm extremely bad at the discord stuff and i don't think I know how to maintain a discord server, but if anyone can make one that'll be very helpful in better communication

I slightly updated my map. I added a bit more detailing to fit the theme better and tweaked thing placement a bit. I don't think I'll update my map anymore because I want to keep it minimalist.

 

Also, I didn't add a custom sky because I assumed that all maps in an episode will have the same sky. So when you'll be compiling, add the same sky as in map 01 (or leave the default one, there's no big difference).

I decided I should give up my slot. I am too absorbed in work on my own project so it would be better to open up a position for someone who wants it more. Looking forward to seeing what everyone makes!

So I'm wrestling a bit of a dilemma. Since the map is ruins floating in a void my initial thought was to have the void be a death pit. However this only really serves immersion. Design wise it may be more janky and irritating than it's worth and I should instead just make some kind of boundary on the sides. Which sounds more appropriate?

Get well, when I feel depressed I go and meet with my friends, I recommend to do the same
