Download the shareware version or play it for free in one of the many websites that host old shareware/demos of classic games in the browser. You can try out others like Wolfenstein 3D and Diablo that way too. Although the full game is probably selling for like $1-2 during sales, which are very often.

I have periods of time where I play it often but then I have other periods of time where I don't play it that much or not at all
