What are the coolest Monster mods you know?

I am looking for monster mod recommendations, to combine such mods with other single-context mods like map mods and weapon mods.

 

In other words, I think it would often be more challenging to fight more monsters then the classical ones from all the original formal Doom releases.

 

What are the coolest monster mods for Doom that you know of and would recommend to try?

By the way, Project Brutality 3.0 mod has lots of monsters that if I had a simple way to cut out from that mod into a monster mod for myself for self play (no distribution, not to be accused of theft) I would have done so because there are really great monster designs there which I would have been glad to combine in various map mods.

When I'm in the mood for a bigger monster roster and some change, I usually go for Complex Doom:

I think for like each enemy it has four randomized variants. Other difficulties. Lots of new guns. You can get super overpowered in continuous playthroughs haha, but yeah I think it's pretty cool every once and awhile. Fun way to revisit some of the original games this way.

Some mods I know that are monsters only:

The Western Patch

Dusted's Pandemonia (the monsters-only version)

Colourful Hell

Angelic Aviary

DoomRL Arsenal (the monster pack specifically)

 

You could also add Corruption Cards to the mix, which isn't strictly a "monster mod" but pairs well with other mods. Same with Legendoom Lite and Champions.

 

I would keep an eye on this thread, too, though it's currently light on monster mods:

it's not one file, it is individual monsters. just click download on every single one.

just wave over repository, then you can select from each category. here, i went to repository, to the beastiary, and selected doom style.

The files on Realm667 will give you additional actors that you as a map maker can place into levels, they're not there to modify monsters in existing maps, which I think is what OP is asking for.
