1. Is realm667 ok?

2. Why no map07 or map30?

3. Is it ok if I use udb, udmf doom ii, gzdoom, using gzdoom.pk3 and doom2.wad, and saving it as a wad and make sure its compatible with boom?

  1. If you're referring to the repository's DECORATE additions, then sure! So long as no IWAD material is getting replaced, you can add what you like.
  2. The MAP07 and MAP30 slots have unique properties and I'd prefer if people didn't map with those in mind, considering I can't guarantee that their maps will occupy those slots.
  3. UDMF and Boom are two different formats and as such you can't map for both.

I'm interested in making a map again for this, i might do a different format this time around. might even compose my own if i can.

 

Also are you allowed to use mp3 music for your map? (and are you supposed to keep the music away from the vanilla doom 2 lumps?)

 

And are you supposed to replace the doom 2 maps or does the map's entry name have to be different?

 

Also are you allowed to add the map name for the level that shows up in in the intermission screen

  • You can use MP3 music if you like, although it does increase the file size by a fair amount: remember, 2mb is the limit! Name your music D_RUNNIN to replace the stock music.
  • Just replace MAP01 in your submission, it's all good. When I refer to replacing IWAD resources I'm generally talking about things like alterations to the stock monsters via DeHackEd, whereas map markers and music names are easily changed during the compiling process to avoid clashes with other submissions.

if my music file gets to big i might just compress it.

map i made for map01

 

Made for ZDoom compatible ports but still uses the doom format

 

Has 4 DECORATE objects from Realm667 (Specifically the Auto-Shotgun guy and rifle, the other 2 came with the rifle and their ammo pickups.)

 

Music composed by me. (the music file is 1.98MB, it got very close to the file size limit i'll say that.)

 

(Also the cwilv00 lump i made for it has my username under it in freedoom's smallfont. For anyone who doesn't know cwilv## is the lump for the level's name being shown in the intermission screen.)
