Walter confetti Posted January 3 (edited) A sequel to the Wolfestein 3D project i made last year with a more freeform twist, similar to Mondo Project and Doomworld Mega Project 2021 and 2022, but with the only limitation of not using Doom 2 as base for your levels (and by extent Final Doom? I have to see if this limitation goes good with you guys), because... There's way too many projects for that? Hoping this thing will not be too limitative for whatever thing you have in mind to do, i post some rules if you want to join this crazy thing: Everyone is accepted, from newbies to experts! Make a level for a game that permits modding for it and that doesn't gave any legal issue with it (so, no ROM hacks just for being safe), a list of such games (that i am aware being capable of modding, including link to their editors if any) are down below in spoiler: Spoiler Hovertank 3D Wolfestein 3D\Spear of Destiny Commander Keen Vinyl Goddess from Mars Hocus Pocus Dangerous Dave Cosmo Cosmic Adventure Rise of the Triad Chasm: The Rift Doom 64 Freedoom (Phase 1 \ 2) Chex Quest Action Doom 2 HACX The Adventures of Square Heretic Hexen Amulets & Armors Strife: Quest for the Sigil Duke Nukem 3D Blood Shadow Warrior Quake Quake 2 Half Life Other games that aren't in the list is accepted as well (like Unreal, Cave Story, and Tomb Raider iirc) are good to go, just remember the legal aspect of the modding nature of what are you going to mod. Source port for testing is in the spoilers below: Spoiler ECWolf (for wolfestein games) chocolate doom (minimum required for ID Tech 1 games) Chex Quest 3 Action Doom 2 Adventures of Square Amulets & Armors Eduke32 NBlood Raze (Build games) Darkplaces For other source ports that i'm not aware of, i'll leave you to use the best you know for the game you are going to mod, otherwise just mention the DOS/Win executable in the description If you have the ability to create games with some game engine or some writing ability (such as textual adventures, Visual Novels, platform or anything else), you can create a small software if you want, just give a little interaction for it with the user wants to take a look at it. Keep your works under the 50 MB file size limit when zipped. Any type of work is accepted, just don't send viruses, malware, utter garbage or something too NSFW\NSFL (such as real life gore or something illegal) Single and Multiplayer maps are both accepted. The files will be arranged by the game they are going to modify or the engine is based of, if it's a completely new thing as mentioned in rule #3. If possible, i'd like to see a recorded video of you beating the thing you did. Use this template for the thing you did: Spoiler Title of your work: Author: Game: Description: Download link: === Only for modded assets from other games === Source port: Level slot(s): New assets: Hope you have fun with this crazy compo, i'm really curious of the final results of this! realjohnmadden Posted January 6 So, is it allowed to make a Wolf map that uses ECWolf features (i.e. Decorate, ROTT elevators, etc), and is it allowed to use Doom assets (and also recreate Doom maps)? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
THEBaratusII Posted January 6 Are submitting multiplayer levels allowed or is it only singleplayer levels? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

taufan99 Posted March 29 (edited) As far as legal concerns go, would MacenWolf be okay to include here? 11 hours ago, Rykzeon said: I still have 0 idea how to make new maps & assets in modern Wolfenstein 3D source ports Have you checked out all the references out there? This might be useful, and there's also this YouTube playlist. Edited March 29 by taufan99 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Also, I think it'd be better to make the download link clickable by choosing the entire link, pressing the chain button (to the left of the " button), and inserting the link. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Plerb Posted April 9 I'll probably make something for this. I have some silly ideas for a Dangerous Dave mod, which would take place in the same universe as my absurdist sprite webcomic Dangerous Dave and the Crazy Country. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
DankMetal Posted April 9 I will try to make my own pizza tower level with AFOM, if i have the patience to do so. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
THEBaratusII Posted May 13 Finally got around to releasing my first contribution to this project. Title of your work: Strangle Author: THEBaratusII Game: Strife: Quest for the Sigil Description: This is my contribution to the Box of Chaos 2 community project. A regular deathmatch level focused on mishmashing a few themes as a attempt to further work on my mapping skills. I get the layouts right, but I needed to work on my texturing a bit better. Download link: https://gamebanana.com/mods/513361 === Only for modded assets from other games === Source port: Vanilla-compatible (even tested it with Chocolate-Strife) Level slot(s): MAP01 New assets: A couple of custom textures 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
THEBaratusII Posted May 24 Another contribution for Box of Chaos 2! Title of your work: Macenbitz Author: THEBaratusII Game: Wolfenstein 3D (Mac) Description: Was originally going to make a mapset for the Macintosh port of Wolfenstein 3D but I felt discouraged to continue due to a strange bug that I don't know if it was due to using an emulator or not. This mapset contains two levels. .DSK image for mounting is included and a .SIT archive is also included inside the .DSK image. Download link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/q6t3uxn24duqt1n/TBII_Macenbitz.zip/file === Only for modded assets from other games === Source port: Vanilla-compatible (Tested on Basilisk II and Qemu-m68k emulators, I don't have a actual 68k Macintosh at the moment) New assets: None 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I only messed around with WolfEdit a few times, but I should make an actual Mac map at some point. (I'll probably end up doing something else for this project, though.. time to bust out good old DOS and Watcom C++.) 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
