OnionTaco22 Posted January 7 (edited) ----Edit---- I have changed the map around a little bit to make it play better (at least it plays better in my sessions) If you want a list of the changes, look at the READ ME file. That has all the changes listed in it. I will keep the original download link if you want to download that and compare, but you don't need to download it. Here is the revised version download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q14LfI4P_hTUeTu5hSRsLECnIDwNNZa_/view?usp=drive_link I hope you enjoy this version :) --------Original Post-------- I started making a map that wasn't just me testing the map editor I was using, and I ended up making a map that I am happy with. Though I want to know if anyone else thinks that it's good. The map was made using the DSDA Doom UDMF format, so it isn't a vanilla map, which was sort of what I was going for, though I only used UDMF for the convenience of it and (at least for me), it being easier to use. The map was made for Doom 2. Also, you can only play this in complevel 21 due to it using UDMF. If you want to download it and play it, this link should hopefully work (I'm not too sure how to share things fully with google drive): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JETQWoc-QarT6Xk-WbQyEIjPp_slfOfB/view?usp=drive_link If you do not want to download it, or you want to see some images of it to see how it looks before you download, here are some: Any feedback you have, please tell me! Even if you hate the map, that can still help me! There is a read me file with the wad, however it only goes through things already stated here, you should only need to open it if you somehow forget something from here. I hope you enjoy the map! Edited January 8 by OnionTaco22 I revised the map and needed to provide another link as well as some extra information. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

epg Posted January 8 This is a first map?! You have a level of interconnectedness most seem to miss out on. Most don't even have any height variation. Pretty good! Some things can be improved: - more light variation; everything is too bright - switches are on the other side of the sprawl from where they act and I just had to wander around to see what changed - I didn't even figure out what the switch in the secret near the exit did - I noticed the first secret on the map when I was up by the yellow key card, but there was no way to re-lower that lift so I had to go around. It's nice to allow operation from both sides, usually just by walking over it. - That same lift leading to the yellow key card shouldn't even have had a switch; it should have lowered as you approached it. Your switch here is doubled even. - After you're up there, that switch seems a bit silly; why not have the yellow key just sitting there? - There's a powerful weapon hiding here, but nothing to use it against. Demo recorded with dsda-doom v0.27.5 FirstMap.lmp.7z 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I do agree with the things you stated now that they have been pointed out, so I might go back and edit the map to make it better. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
