I am very excited to announce my participation in this project as a mysterious third mapper brought in to spice things up for a couple already publicly declared in this thread. Will keep the details discrete as its way hotter that way. 

 

@NiGHTS108 I couldn't help but notice map01 in the resource pack only lists yourself as the only Author. It's your community project to lead so you can do whatever you want, but it pains me to think of you missing out on the fun your creating for all of us by mapping alone, throw your single hat into the ring!

Aha, well of course! Don’t worry, I’m actually already working on one map right now with someone, taking a look at someone else’s, and of course there’s going to be “Megiddorgy” which I’ll talk about soon enough. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna be missing out on the fun either!

I'm single and ready to mingle! I'm fairly new to the scene still but I have a few maps under my belt that I'm pretty proud of and I'd enjoy collaborating with other new-ish folks. I like long walks on the beach, spooky castles, and maps with plenty of verticality that loop back around on themselves a lot. My turn offs include slaughter and mazes. HMU if ur DTM.

Since this is the first community project since the idgames release of PUSS: Lover's Quarrel, I would like to ask all participants the following. Please let me know if you have wants, wishes, suggestions etc. with regards to the resources.

 

I might be able to even make a texture or two on request if you are missing it in the pack. Something that would be great to have but is not there yet. And having another set of eyes on these resources before I throw it on idgames is very welcome. Let me know if you spot any bugs.

Mentioned this on the NOVA IV thread but life just got a lot busier over the past couple of days and unfortunately that means not much time for Doom mapping. As a result, I will be dropping out of this community project. However, I wish the best of luck to all contributors and am very excited to see how this wall turns out.

Notes: So, for the last month, I've been casually mapping while my wife was rummaging nearby. She somehow took a weird interest in my deviant hobby, and so I showed her around the UDB, despite her never have played Doom. The week after, this collab came about and we've decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to showcase our firstborn! At first, we decided to clearly separate ourselves with two distinct zones, but soon enough we bridged the gap and the map became a more collaborative effort, with me focusing on balancing and playtesting, and her showing a really nice knack for environmental design. (which I don't practically enjoy, so we're matchmade in heaven!) This is our first map together, but I'm certain it won't be our last.
Happy Valentine mapping, and we can't wait to see all the other maps made with love!

Pretty strong map from the both of you! No notes on the fights, had a good time with pretty much all of them and it's a nice, pretty simple map that'll probably get in the first third of the wad give or take, a few notes, one is that I believe you forgot to remove the player 1 start in the second segment when pasting over, so it starts there by default. Another more subjective note is that I did find it slightly obtuse to realise where to go in the second part and the small canyon behind the lake wasn't super clear? Please change the first thing I mentioned as I'm sure that was definitely not intended and it's your call about if you think the start of the second part of the map is a little too obscure. :)

My bad, was busy fixing a few things right before release and missed that start... For some reason it was Easy/Normal only, weird.

Obtuse progression wasn't intended, a very good concern! I've made it a bit clearer where to go and placed a heart trail. Here's a new version.

I got a couple of things here. I could not figure out what to do after you get the red key so I never finished it.

 

Otherwise, I think maybe making the trail at the start out of shotgun shells would be nice. Finding the two things of ammo was kind of annoying, just a small problem though.

Red key? Should be pink, or I screwed up somewhere...

Either way, automap should have helped you out. I will make the pink switch stand out a bit more just in case.

As for the ammo... Yeah, but my wife is evil like that, so it's intended. When I playtested I jabbed with "when my bitch wife wants to watch Equinox..." whenever I ran out of ammo, but that's UV experience for ya. HMP should be less ammo starved.

I think all the other pink textures from otex counting the decoration ones. I could not find a single 64x64 decoration texture in the entire thing other then switches. (Same for 128x128)
