I don't know if Eviternity 2 is to blame or not, but it seems that "why not simply make slopes out of 1-unit steps?" is becoming less taboo lately.

I only ever finished Doom I Episode 1 and played some add-ons from '90s lol. Almost never touched recent add-on releases except BTSX.

Really like that aesthetic. It hits that uncanny level of Doom detailing perfectly, right in the middle of sparse and plain vs overdetailed.

 

It reminds me of @Jodwin's amazing 2010 release Jade Earth, one of Doomworld's top 100 maps, and one of my personal favorites.

I'm glad to hear that because that's exactly what I'm aiming for. Pushing the visuals a bit but trying to focus on what the DOOM engine does well without cluttering the scene. And yeah, Jade Earth is really awesome indeed!

If you used it to not wake up the monsters - you don't have to do that. There is a cheat called "notarget" that makes the monsters not attack you, unless they woke up first or you attack them. You can use the GZDooM's console (tab key) or just type "notarget" while playing. The second method works even in PrBooM and DSDA-DooM.
