what do y'all think is the best "bare-bones" tutorial for doom is?

i like The Ultimate Doom and Doom II, but sometimes(frequently) the level design's age shows. while playing through both games i've found that i've needed tutorials numerous times, and through that i can't easily find any tutorials that fit my needs. the ones on the doom wiki (specifically the one at doomwiki.org and not the fandom one) are kinda inconsistent in quality and regularly are somewhat confusing in their own right, and while BigMacDavis is amazing at making tutorials, he specifically only does 100% tutorials, which aren't really what i'm looking for.

this post isn't really as much of a request for recommendations, i don't need anything myself, as much as it is something more aimed to spark discussion.

There’s strategy guide books if you want to be an OG and flaunt the monies and not be a YT video walkthrough wanker or Wiki Tiki.

I've used bigmac davis a couple times, he's comprehensive and explains everything clearly, the videos are always around just 10 minutes long, usually less, probably always less if you cut out his little analysis at the end. Don't really see how they're not cutting it. I don't really like the doom wiki tutorials either, it's much easier for me to skim through a video and see the part I'm stuck on that to try and skim through a long article and figure out what part of the level it's talking about at that moment.

That being said I don't think the level designs are as obtuse as you're making them out to be, rarely did I ever actually have to look something up, maybe 2 or 3 times across the entirety of doom 1 and 2. 2 instances I can remember stemmed from teleporter bullshit, that episode 4 level with the cyber demon and the teleporter on the tower in the lava, and the red keycard in industrial zone. How are you supposed to know they take you to different locations depending on what side you enter from? Not intuitive at all. But even then I also play exclusively in VR which gets mentally exhausting after awhile, if I was playing in flatscreen I'd be willing to experiment more.
