i need a new wallpaper, and want it to look like it could be a wall in doom, but i don't know how to do that.

i've been using a pretty terrible wallpaper for a while now, and i figure that it's time for a change, but my idea of a cool new wallpaper is making something with Doom textures that could possibly display in game, however i don't know enough about the engine to really make this like, as authentic as desired. does anyone have any advice?

depends on what you're attempting to make as your wallpaper. I make Doom maps custom for the Romero Discord banners each season/holiday, which are then screenshotted in-game in a diorama-like fashion. I then go into photoshop and add the logo.

If you need custom props, etc you can always trawl through some of the resources threads here but pretty much everything I use is done in game, including lighting, with a little enhancement in post.

ironically enough this was the troublesome wallpaper in the first place, though i don't have animated wallpaper support so it was just FIREBLU2

Just take a texture and tile it? If you want it to look "authentic" you'll need to stretch it vertically by 20% to correct the aspect ratio, but aside from that there isn't really much to making something that "could possibly display in game."

is there not shit like sidedefs that limit what walls can look like?
