Adding New Language

Good evening to everyone i hope you are doing well. 

I have a question about DOOM language. 
i am Ukrainian.
I find out that original DOOM do not suppot ukrainian language. But in my wad i wish that story will be translated on Ukrainian language as well. 
I'm redy even to create two similar wads, one English and one Ukrainian. 
Is there any way to add extra language (in my case Ukrainian), which was not support by default, in Doom via Ultimade Doom Builder?

Assuming Vanilla here.

 

Short answer: No.

 

Long answer: Sort of. You would need to:

1. Create a WAD that replaces all graphics with translated equivalents.

2. Map the string characters from (1) to the target language.

3. Create a DeHackEd file that replaces all the strings with translated equivalents using the string map from (2).

 

It will be a lot of work. You will need one WAD per language, like you suggest.

There are some source ports which support the Cyrillic alphabet, for example: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/International_Doom (the DoomWiki page).  Probably a better place to start than doing it all yourself.

For GZDoom, you can use a LANGUAGE lump to translate the strings to Ukrainian while also keeping the English localization.

Actually when checking GZDoom's translations, a significant part of the menu's texts have already been translated into Ukrainian. The translation looks to be a work in progress but with very infrequent updates.
