I am a newbie who has made two maps so far (this one and this one) so far. I would not consider them to be particularly fantastic or good but, I guess practice makes perfect...

I think I have officially published two maps so far, MAP13 of Japanese Community Project, and E1M4 of The Joy of Mapping 6: Joy Eternal.

I also can remember there was an attempt to make my own episode-long IWAD in 2018 or 2019, but I only completed two maps and I got burnt out.

I refer people to my wiki page. It doesn't have everything on it, but it has the vast majority of what's been released.

And a few comments I'd like to add...

Even my best maps were played by few people and immediately forgotten about.

First, you'd be surprised what people remember and enjoy, so don't sell your work short.

That, and the mapping process can be very unpleasant at times, like, every time I finish a layout I dread starting texturing.

If I remember to texture as I go, texturing isn't so bad. However, invariably, I'll start out doing that and then just get into drawing and thing placement. Then I realize I have half a map textured with the default texture. At that point, I just sigh and put it in 3D mode and start texturing. It can be fun, but it can also be tedious, so I understand what you mean.

As of February 2018, I had released a grand total of 2 maps, too. Were they magnum opuses? No, of course not, but I enjoyed making them. 6 years later, I still enjoy mapping, and I've been able to contribute to a variety of projects, too. I look back at my early maps and I can see that I've gotten better, which is completely normal for any creative endeavor. As you said, practice makes perfect. Don't give up and keep mapping.
