SlowDoomer Posted February 13, 2024 (edited) I couldn't find a demo or video of anyone killing all monsters on this map, so I made it. I know that the I'm Too Young To Die difficulty is unpopular, but it's the only way to get 100% kills due to the double ammo. I'm not actually very fast (or good) at Doom (as you can see), so I took the extra time to get all the items since this wasn't going to be fast anyway. What I would really like to see is someone else do this faster, better, and perhaps even with no damage. It might be boring to watch and boring to do, but please let someone do it better so that I can watch! How can we be satisfied if they're not all dead? nuts2-itytd-2904.zip Edited February 15, 2024 by SlowDoomer Video uploaded to YouTube 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
tmorrow Posted February 14, 2024 Well played! B.P.R.D's Nuts series being joke wads, the first 2 were never balanced for max kills. There's no difference in monster count between ITYTD and UV but the double ammo of ITYTD gives you enough ammo as you've nicely demonstrated. When I played this on UV years ago I left 208 cybies behind after infighting, didn't even try to kill any, just ran on to the next room. Not sure what best results would look like on UV, I'm guessing around 100 cybies remaining with good play but I'm curious if anyone has tried and how well they did. It's too bad that all the ammo in the next room can't be used on the left over cybies since the wall closes behind. Have you seen Zero Master's TAS uvmax for Nuts with the non human collection of 70,000 revenant homing rockets and using the ball of fiery death to kill the cybies? Same trick could be used here of course for a TAS uvmax. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
SlowDoomer Posted February 14, 2024 So I did practice this on UV, using the same strategies as this ITYTD run and was able to get 98% kills (the current UV max record gets 94% kills) leaving 80 cyberdemons alive. That took about an hour and required me to collect every bullet and shell from the first room. I think I spend more time collecting ammo than killing monsters. If anyone wants to see that then maybe I’ll do it again and record a demo. I have seen Zero Masters UV max TAS for Nuts and I love it! I would imagine that the same trick could work here. If you stand on the wall as it rises to separate the second and third rooms, you just get crushed. But I also wondered if a linedef skip could be done to prevent the second and third rooms from closing so that you could get the ammo in the third room to kill the remaining cyberdemons. Maybe someone will look into that. That’s a bit above my pay grade. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
