kilsya1 Posted February 18, 2024 Hello all! I have a quick question for the community about my first megawad; I've already finished my first map that incorporates some vanilla water areas (not-swimmable) and I don't want to change the way they look and function, but I also would like to add some swimmable waters areas in my next levels- do you think this would be too jarring and inconsistent of a detail between levels or has using both been done tastefully in other wads? I would like to use both styles if it doesn't break level immersion for most people, but if enough people think that it creates too much dissonance I may just stick with vanilla water. My best example to describe this conflict would be a rising water floor in the first level. It's a flat vanilla water texture that rises to create the effect of a pool filling- but you cannot swim in and when it's raised it is used to walk to the next door switch, for all visual purposes this is meant to be a pool of water but it is going to look clearly different from the swimmable pools of water I want to add later. Thanks for any input! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
