Naan Posted February 21 (edited) Seeing her cited a couple of times, I found Kreia to be more embarassing than anything but maybe that's just me. I still believe KOTOR 2 was a vastly unfinished and unbalanced game with a forced release that would get gunned down by review bombing and other backlashes just like today games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Starfield which were just released in a better state than KOTOR 2 but got bombed anyway. As far as KOTOR is concerned, I'd go with Bastila or Mission, and for the Mass Effect franchise, I'd go with Ashley. Edited February 21 by Naan 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

And Kreia brought such a new and interesting perspective on the force. I played with a fan-patch by the way, which solved most of the bugs and balance issues. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ralseiwithagun Posted February 22 Probably Susie or Noelle from Deltarune, not a weird thing where I would smash either of them I just like them as characters 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jello Posted February 22 I've always really liked Kinzie Kensington from the Saints Row games. She was always an enjoyable character; smart, funny, hacked the shit out of everyone, kicked out of the FBI, liked killing people, just a really enjoyable character. And you bet I chose her as my player character in "Gat Out of Hell". I'd much rather listen to Kinzie killing demons than Gat. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

SealSpace Posted February 25 (edited) Samus Aran (especially in Metroid Prime 1 and 3 and Fusion). Mai Shiranui and other female characters from KoF games and some other fighting game series I'm at least vaguely and passingly familiar with? Blaze Fielding from Streets of Rage definitely comes to mind as do multiple others from classic 2D beat em up games and various oldfag era games of the 8-bit and 16-bit (and maybe 32/64-bit) era. and at least a handful from arcade light gun rail shooters. Kate Green from House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn comes to mind. Those two are just as cute as they are badass. That being said however, I see your Metal Slug babes Eri and Fio and I raise you another best SNK stacey waifu... Goddess Athena, Motherfuckers! This character is probably one of the only female game characters that beats Samus Aran on my list. I sure do main a lot of female characters in games huh. Man the KoF/SNK community and FGC really does go hand in hand with the Doom/Boomer Shooter community pretty hard eh? PsychoGoatee Posted March 4 I gotta go Chun-Li, legend! Also a fan of the many greats mentioned here, Mai and Ivy from the OP for sure, too many cool characters. Fighting games really captured my imagination in High School no doubt. For like cinematic writing quality and whatnot, Jesse from Control is cool, and I like Panam from Cyberpunk yep. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
scalliano Posted March 5 Lara Croft (obviously) - Core era specifically (AoD notwithstanding) Jacqueline Natla from TR1 Blaze Fielding from Streets of Rage Miria from Guardian Legend Boss/Playa and Shaundi from Saints Row 2 And Billie-Sue from Wabbit on the Atari 2600, just for being the actual first :P 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
EraserheadBaby Posted March 25 Samus Aran. I like her because she feels the most like a warrior. Part of it is her armor. I don't mind sexualized characters, but skimpy outfits hurt the immersion for me and make me roll my eyes. Samus is fuckin' suited up for business. A lone warrior on an alien world, just tryin' to get paid. A sell sword. Fiercely independent but usually soft spoken. She doesn't really need to talk, does she? Samus is not a hand to hand fighter, so her physicality is more about agility than strength, like Aeon Flux (her skimpy outfit works with her world and strategies). Samus is a great character because of her intelligence, agility, tactics, bravery, and drive. (just pretend other M didn't happen) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
hybridial Posted March 25 (edited) I mentioned Leona Heidern before I did forget a character, quite a major character for me and I absolutely should bring her up... because Baldur's Gate 3 fucking RUINS her. Apparently less Larian and more Wizards of the Coast to blame, which I would not be shocked by because Wizards are a clownshow when it comes to handling their setting continuity nowadays. But yeah, I really should have brought up Viconia DeVir. Her BG1 and BG2 incarnations because in BG3 it's a fucking doppelganger impersonating her. It's literally not the same character, it simply cannot be and I want to stress this because BG3 was a big hypefest and people have played it who never touched BG1 and 2, and I want to make it clear to them that her appearance is complete fucking bullshit that never should have been allowed. Why? Everything she does in BG3 is contradictory to what the character in BG1 and 2 would have done. Yes she is a Drow and all the baggage that comes with that, but her key moment in life, the one thing that put her in a situation to where she can even appear in those games, is she refused to sacrifice an infant to Lolth. And if she would refuse Lolth and disavow her faith over that, she'd FUCKING DO THE SAME THING TO SHAR if Shar asks her for a similar act which she definitely perpetrates according to BG3. And no this is something you can't explain away as a change in personality over the 100 odd year time gap, because it's not something that should be excused at all. It should just not be. I also just reject BG3 as a sequel to BG1 and 2, it's a D&D Forgotten Realms game sure, but attempts to connect it with 1 and 2 only lessen the whole endeavour. Okay rant over. Viconia, Bioware's best written romance, best written morally ambiguous team mate and I use her to poke dragons to death with her finger (after some mage help with Lower Resistance and Greater Malison) Edited March 25 by hybridial 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

My favourite is all the skimpy clothing/armour mods for Skyrim. SKYRIM. The fantasy land famous for being goddamn freezing. And nothing says protection quite like "armour" which leaves midriffs exposed and breasts barely covered. It's like these people don't know porn is a thing. Lots of odd cannon related shit going on in that game, I don't like a lot of it. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

bofu Posted March 27 Tali (Mass Effect) Daqiao (Dynasty Warriors) Baiken (Guilty Gear) Bernadetta (Fire Emblem: Three Houses, though this one actually has a few that make it hard to pick) Not in a "me want video game waifu" way (though I will fully cop to having dated a girl with an accent similar to Tali's and finding it very attractive), but in a "there is something about this character that I like beyond their appearance" way. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Yeah, calling it BG3 when it's 20+ years removed, made by completely different people and made on an engine and with gameplay design that is about as far away as it possibly could be, I knew when it was first announced that it'd never be what I wanted it to be. It leeches off the name, when it should have just been a whole new game. Then at least I can shrug at focusing on the Illithids who to me aren't very interesting. But as it is, I kinda hate it. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
netcurse2000 Posted March 27 BG3 is MUCH, simply incomparably better than the prehistoric BG 1,2. It’s not for nothing that BG1 and even BG2 had difficulty paying off, and BG 3 destroyed even many AAA projects. This great game has made millions and millions gamers fall in love with it and opened up a wonderful CRPG world for them. A TRUE masterpiece. P.S. Karlach is best girl (after Lae'zel, of course) 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
