A tie between Homare Nishitani and Sin Kiske, I find boomer shooter "Men" (if you can call them that) Shallow characters.

I also think the idea of having a favorite thing shallow and childish.

How so? Preferring one thing over another is a matter of taste, and taste is not "childish" at all.

Billy and Jimmy Lee from Double Dragon (I am talking about the video game NOT the cartoon). I like their story from the Double Dragon II Amiga manual. In the end they have to fight their own tortured souls.

Otherwise, Mike Hagger all the way!

Is this just an attempt to be edgy?

Bub and Bob from "Bubble Bobble" (1986)
&

Bubby and Bobby from "Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble II" (1987)

as well as Bob from "DonPachi" (1995)

The amusing thing is that not having a favourite thing in anything heavily implies a lack of nuanced and critical thought, therefore being arguably more shallow and childish.

So great work, I guess, really stuck it to em.

Sigma from Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den. Can't say why for the latter without spoiling it but if you know, you'll know.

Well, I guess you could say he's a "Sigma male".

Ugh... To be honest, somebody was eventually going to make that damn joke, and I really wish it wasn't me.

If it's not Doomguy...what are you doing on Doomworld?

Sorry, I don't mind playing as masculine men, but I don't find them attractive, with very few exceptions.

Plus, Doomguy literally has no personality

IDK if I have a favorite but Adam Smasher is certainly up there

I've never even played Cyberpunk but I've watched enough clip shows on Youtube to know about what his deal is

Why did you say the first take about Doomguy?

It's same as "if this game isn't your most favorite of all time then why are you playing it?"

You love Doom or you don`t...

And people love Doom because of Doomguy? That's news to me.

I suppose that can apply to those Doom Slayer games, where they hyped up the game as being this character. But the classic Doom that we love here are not about Doomguy, sorry.

Anyways, favorite video game guys? Lance Boyle, Guybrush Threepwood, and Sir Mullich. First two because they're funny, last one because he's incredibly overpowered.

To give an answer with a bit more depth, I'll add Daeran and Regill from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Both of the characters, when I first met them, I expected to hate. But both grew on me quite a bit as you go through the story with them. They're still evil bastards but they have their good sides.

Doomguys haircut really sets the mood of the game, don't think any other hairstyle would do the job.  The game feels manly and it raises my testosterone high when i play it.

It would of been my 1st pick if i didn't play Mortal Kombat first, my PC back then could barely run Wolfenstein 3-D and it had pc speaker sounds (which i thought was how the game sounded)
