Hydrus Posted February 27 (edited) Name: Recombination IWAD: TNT Map: 12 Music: "Lunar Scilab" from Descent Build time: Nearly 4 months Tested With: GZDoom, DSDA-doom Meant for single-player Other files by author: Head For The Exit (HFTE.wad) This map is very loosely based on Christen David Klie's COMBINE.wad from the Master Levels. Like The Combine, it is a largely non-linear map, but it is much more detailed and challenging. combine2.zip Edited February 27 by Hydrus Forgot to add the actual WAD file 11 Quote Share this post Link to post
LadyMistDragon Posted February 28 Good map! Combine was probably my least favorite Master Level. That puzzle was something else though! Not bad but well.... 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Oxyde Posted March 1 I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to TNT/Master Levels and anything outside of Doom 1/Doom 2 but I definitely enjoyed this level! I was lucky enough to come across the clue for the final puzzle so it wasn't that difficult to me to solve. I was playing using DSDA Doom and OpenGL Renderer: The Self Referencing Sector in the slime sewers resulted in a ton of HOM on this engine, so I resorted to record in Software mode instead, makes for less distracting content. My suggestion for this kind of sector is to make a 1px wide border around your geometry and then apply the self-referencing trick. Fun level, looking forward to your next work! 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Async Unicorn Posted March 7 A good map, I liked it, though there are some issues. 1. There is softlock in this secret, you can pass through the window and get stuck. 2. You can see monster's closet on automap here. 3. I guess this HOM is not the case of self-referencing thing, cause I played in software... Also, I recommend to create either Dehacked (It's vanilla compatible) or UMAPINFO (It's compatible with most of the modern ports), and rename levelname from "Crater" to "Recombination", =) Overall, it's a good work, but it needs some polish. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
eLeR Creative Posted March 9 A very good map, although it needs refinement (see your comment above). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
