Krawa Posted March 5 Doomers! We've got something special for this week's ZDaemon Sessions! The past few days have been super exciting for me. I was able to provide "level design" workshop at a school in the Netherlands to Software Development students whose curriculum includes Game Development. The ultimate opportunity to teach them something about gaming history as well! So I decided to use Doom and it's many modern tools to have them make levels with the help of John Romero's design principles and provide them with feedback as they go. I've compiled all the maps into one wad and what better way then to test them using this weekly event? Hope to see ya'll this Saturday! 8) Settings: Game Mode: Cooperative IWAD: doom2.wad (or freedoom) PWADs: studentsgodoom & zdsskinsv24 Wad url: http://82.165.69.26/wads Maps: 01-30 DMFLAGS: 134234148 / 1073872960 / 0 Players: 33 +33 spect slots Skill: 3 // Ultra violence Aircontrol: 0.00390625 // ZDoom Date: March 9th, 2024 19:30 UTC (2:30 PM ET) 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
Redneckerz Posted March 10 @Krawa Super awesome that you were able to leverage Doom and ZDaemon and modern building tools in the classroom and showing how much fun it can be to work with Doom. Considering so many standalone games get made off Doom tech these days, its inspiring to see things like this happen, showcasing that making content for Doom is very much in the same vein as building stuff for Minecraft. If possible, could you publish your talk? It may also be interesting for aspiring mappers to look into :) Top gedaan ;) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Krawa Posted March 15 Ah yeah confusing a bit, I'm not the teacher :) Thanks goes to UberGewei, he made the original post. I just re-posted it here (and did not change anything). UberGewei is working on getting it published, so I'll let you know. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Krawa Posted May 31 Unfortunately there is bad news, the laptop got stolen alongside a lot of the data including those videos and powerpoints. And there is no backup of the data (oops). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
