How do I turn off autosaves

I checked in the settings and I did not find it anywhere.

Doom 3 for PC doesn't autosave so there's no option to turn it on or off because it doesn't exist.

 

If you're looking for the auto save option in the BFG Edition from Steam or GOG then you should find it in settings, game options, and under the 'Field of View' setting should be 'Auto Save'.

 

If you're playing any version on any console then hopefully someone else can help if you specify what you're playing on.

I am using the dhewm source port on an m1 mac

Ah, I forgot about the way it saves at the beginning of levels. I just assumed you meant the periodic autosave that briefly pauses gameplay in the BFG Editions. In that case I don't know, I looked through dhewm3 for a console command just now but don't see one.

I'm not sure if this will work for dhewm3, I disabled autosaving for RBDOOM-3-BFG with the command:

seta com_disableAutoSaves 1

 I wrote this command in the autoexec.cfg file.
