act Posted March 13 Really depends. I'm going to make a big announcement on something that I believe is fully true and I think we should all think with this odd concept in mind as we move forward in these discussions about seasons: "Winter" is a variable season; it can be the prim-proper Winter, ranging between around November 1st to February 1st in the Northern Hemisphere (May 1st to August 1st in the Southern Hemisphere), or it could even be the Summer, ranging between around May 1st to August 1st in the Northern Hemisphere (November 1st to February 1st in the Southern Hemisphere). What defines a "Winter" is simply by the least pleasant-to-most deadly season. In the Southern United States, you'll see a minimal amount of people outside going about their business during the Summer season, as that time of year brings forth the most lethal heat and disease-spreading insects. So for someone in, let's say, Savannah, Georgia "Winter" is the Summer. Between the dates of May 1st to even the Midfall point of September 22nd/23rd, the heat alone is as lethal as my Western Canadian home's cold between December and March is. So technically that should be your guide to determining, on average, the least favourite season of people - the one that brings the least favourable conditions for survival. I would say Winter proper is my least favourite season, as it brings forth conditions that are uncomfortable at best and lethal at worst. But the gentleman above me would say Summer is the worst, as the Summer in his region brings forth uncomfortable at best and lethal at worst conditions. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dark Pulse Posted March 13 Summer sucks, but you can cool off. Winter? Ha ha ha, it's not only the cold you have to worry about. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
EPICALLL Posted March 13 I don't mind winter that much, I mean... Sure, in recent years, winter has become rather boring due to global warming, and having literally no snow the whole season IN FOCKEN CANADA! But, otherwise... I quite like it, good season to just sit inside with a blanket and a cup of coffee. Anyways, summer... I hate summer for one reason... As somebody who still goes to school (I'm 16), I enjoy school because it gives me a reason to wake up every day. The summer completely lacks that. Every day, I do the same boring thing because I am by nature un-ambitious, and need someone else to give me a direction. Therefore, when I am directionless, I am morbidly depressed, and when I'm morbidly depressed, I don't do anything, and it's just a negative cycle like the stock market crash of '29. So yeah, summer bad. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chookum Posted March 13 For me it's a toss between Spring and Summer. Spring has allergies and everyone becoming simultaneously compelled to cut the grass, and summer has sleepless nights where sometimes you can't cool off at all in awful, muggy humidity. You can only strip so many layers off. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
JollyMelt Posted March 13 Summer sucks here in Phoenix AZ... especially working outside in it... 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Plerb Posted March 13 I don't exactly hate summer, but I really hate when there's extreme heat and bugs. At least where I live, neither of these things get too horrifying. Not yet, anyways. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Garland Posted March 13 Winter. I drive regularly, and thus have to deal with: Snow! Black ice! Inexperienced drivers who drive too fast for weather conditions! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
wumbo Posted March 13 (edited) At first my philosophy was that all seasons in my mind were equal, because after a long season each one is very refreshing and keeps the world feeling new. After a long, cold winter, spring feels rejuvenating, and after a blisteringly hot and grueling summer, the fall greets you with crisp air. Each season gets old near the end of its time, and the next season replaces it and feels like a very nice change. But then I remembered that I have school so summer takes the cake for the best one, and I'll just throw winter in the worst position because school is in that season and makes me feel like shit. JoeyKelastiof Posted March 13 (edited) I would say Summer but only because of the heat that can be way too high nowadays. It's a shame because apart from that Summer is usually the funniest season, people are more willing to go out, do things etc. If you asked me about my favorite season I'd say spring though. EDIT: Oh and as another comment pointed out, bugs are annoying in summer too. Edited March 13 by JoeyKelastiof 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

So yeah, summer bad. Exact opposite for me. When I lived in the north, the complete lack of sunlight during winter was extremely depressing. Also, in most video games that concern the changing seasons (Stardew Valley, Vintage Story, etc...) the winter music blows ass Edited March 13 by RDETalus 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

ReaperAA Posted March 13 (edited) In summer, the temperature outside can reach 45o Celsius where I live so I would choose that. Winter reaches about 0 to 5o Celsius, so that is mildly annoying, but not as bad imho. Spring and Fall are nice. Probably spring would be my favorite. Snowdrifts taller than the vehicle I am driving comes to mind. Walking to your mailbox and back without at least 3 layers on is a guarantee to get frostbite on some winter conditions too where I live. The season is very pretty, but it falls into the category identified by act above, where the most dangerous season is winter but summer is very pleasant. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
