To get out of the middle room in Unholy Cathedral (E3M5), use the teleporters that are flashing, as opposed to fullbright.  This took me way longer than it should to realise and annoyed the hell outta me.

Pro tip: To defeat the spider mastermind, shoot at it until it dies.

Here's a tip: Just use god mode through out all of episode 3 then go do Episode 4
