Scoutdy Posted March 20 This is the first doom map I've released to the public. It's just a basic first level. I haven't mapped since High school so i decided to do something simple to get back in the swing of things. This maps is in the basic doom 2 format, tested in Crispy Doom. Because of that Doom2.wad is required. I like the map overall but i think i could've done better balancing so def give me some tips to improve on that. It also has 3 secrets, first person to find them all wins: bragging rights* here are some screen shots (Taken in gzdoom) Link to download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eiZnY1aem4G8j1A9cuA7I_tlISL4Paug/view?usp=sharing 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Enzo Carozza Posted March 20 (edited) Had to change the MIDI to prevent "Running from Evil" from rotting my brain further. Here's a very bad run of this map on Nightmare, with 100% secrets. I got thrown off at secrets 1 and 2 because of the accidental double secret lines, I kept trying to trigger the already triggered line. Very short and simple, but sweet. Scoutdy Posted March 20 Thanks. I was gonna replace the music but the midi i was gonna use i felt didn't fit the map so I'm gonna use it for another map. Possibly a slaughter map of some kind. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
scrm Posted March 20 Well, it's a pretty simple and basic map, but I liked it. It feels very 90s with in its architecture and design, but not in a bad way. I liked your Doomcute. I couldn't spot any obvious technical problems other than the blue key door not being unpegged. Quick demo, recorded in dsda-doom with complevel2: Scoutdy-UAC_facility_0_01.zip Not much to mention. I went back after finding the exit and realizing I hadn't found a single secret, and at least found the Supercharge. Keep at it! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Btw pay attention to the "carpet" On ground floor. I think you'll notice a pattern 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
