Cascade Posted April 3 (edited) NOTE: Gameplay still not fully fleshed out and are to be changed and looking for feedback To simply put it, doom but with mining. A basic gameplay mod that replaces pickups (Only ammo and health so far) as mineral nodes as well as changing the arsenal that utilizes the minerals gathered. The gameplay gives you the handy pickaxe made to crack and collect deposits for your ammo. As minerals are gathered you will use them as ammunition for your armaments. This is only an early version and I will be looking for feedback (Balancing) on this current state. Matt Eldrydge Posted April 4 Fun little mod! My only suggestion so far is to maybe make the pickaxe have a faster select speed or having a hotkey for quickly smashing rocks. Other than that, I feel like the arbalest's primary fire could do some more damage since it seems to more or less replace the shotgun? I do believe I had to two tap zombies with it. Baratus Posted April 4 Really like how this is shaping up. I would suggest you raise the Blast Furnace primary's damage output, since it should be at least as powerful as the Doom 2 chaingun since it fires rather slow projectiles instead of hitscans. In fact, all of the weapon's damage values could be raised slightly. Could you make barrels take double damage from Blast Furnace projectiles since they would be ignited? Or make it so that the Blast Furnace explosive projectile can blast apart ore deposits? I know that the pickaxe is the dedicated mining tool, but explosives can be used to mine, by my logic. Scileboi Posted May 29 The weapons so far are pretty good. But I would suggest working more on the mining mechanic. While it´s a cool idea as it is now they´re just pickups with extra steps and don´t really add anything interesting gameplaywise. Maybe add different durabilities, have certain minerals be mined faster with certain tools. Maybe make rocks emit a positive status effect aura so there is a meaningful decision to breaking or not breaking minerals.
