I Googled the classic Doom intermission screens and to my surprise, couldn't find them anywhere so I procured them myself and they are below. They make a nice Desktop background! Enjoy.

I actually used the E3 screen as my desktop for a good while. Definitely the best of the three, maybe my favorite depiction of a hellscape ever. I love Hell as a vast windswept desert more than being only volcanoes and red rock and stuff (though those bits are there too).

 

It occurs to me…were the markers for Mt. Erebus and Unholy Cathedral switched at some point? The clifftop lava lake seems much more like Mt Erebus, and that ruin up there with the tower feels more like a cathedral…which in any case is closer to the map that comes right before it, while the big fiery mountain is closer to the final map and the map right after. Makes me wonder
