ViolentBeetle Posted April 6, 2024 Door is just a sector with ceiling lowered into a floor and a line effect that makes it go up. Which part are you having problems with? 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Lemme try again and give an update A door action works by raising the ceiling of the sector on the far side of the line from the tick to 4 units below the lowest adjacent ceiling. If there is any sector adjacent to the door with a ceiling which is at the floor level, the door won't open. Also, in Doom, lines have a front side (with the tick) and a back side (without). Directionality is important, as most actions which require pressing the use key to activate should be activated from the front side. eanasir Posted April 7, 2024 (edited) Path out a section of your room using linedefs. It looks the best using 16 mp. Then hit Shift+D while using Sector mode to then make your door. It'll ask you for a texture. I remember having the same problem as you. Making a door manually is kind of hard so I'm glad that DB2/UDB has this feature. I was kind of mad for not knowing when making my first WAD. BTW: Do NOT make your door before your room. It will make the texture of the door the texture of the room Edited April 7, 2024 by eanasir 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
