Any way to remove blood and gore from brutal doom v21?

(Very) new doomer here and first post on Doom World,

 

I just beat Ultimate Doom and want to try out Brutal Doom. However, the gore is too much for me, even on the lowest settings. I guess that's the point of brutal doom, but unlike a lot of gore that makes me go "F### YEAH!!" it just grosses me out.

 

I've found lite brutal doom mods, but they dont look as good as v21.

 

I've never been able to find a good alternative, please help!

 

(Also if this post has anything wrong with it, im sorry, this is my first post on doom world :) )

Sorry to not be of any help, but I have to ask... what exactly is so gross about BD's gore compared to the FUCK YEAH MOTHERFUCKER EAT THIS YOU FUCKING COWARD-ASS BITCH kind of gore? You're not loading it alongside HDoom are you?

I doubt it. I don't have v21 downloaded, but I do have the v22 test, and you can only change the blood amount in it, and if I can remember correctly, v21 also only let you change the amount of blood enemies spew out when shot.

 

There might be some random no gore/low gore version somewhere on the internet, but I have not ever heard one.

Right. And I guess it's not fun anymore and will look weird if you remove blood and gore from Brutal Doom? That's the thing makes Brutal Doom tasteful.

I don't know about removing it entirely, but you can go to Brutal Doom options and turn down the gore to the minimum setting, and in GZDoom settings turn "decals" limit to 0, so you don't get any blood splattering on walls.

There is a PK3 floating around somewhere online (and also on my hard drive somewhere) of just the Brutal Doom player and the weapons. It's ripped from an earlier version of Brutal Doom (no idea which one though). All it changes is the weapons and anything related to the player, nothing else. I'll try to find it and dropbox it.

I'd be interested in this too. I like how they modified the demon behavior but the gore is just over the top and ridiculous.
