ALilGrayBoi Posted April 12 It’s the switch, it can barely run Minecraft but in all seriousness, from the gameplay I’ve seen for 2016 it runs ok. Graphics are crappy though. I’m not sure about eternal. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ganimoth Posted April 13 Eternal actually runs bit better than the 2016 game and is holding 30 fps fairly consistently. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
SteelPH Posted April 15 If you don't mind the graphical downgrade, 30fps, and lack of Snapmap in 2016, they're fine. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
nathanB404 Posted April 16 Played doom eternal and 2016 both on my switch lite. As far as ports go they are pretty good. Tho eternal suffered far more in the graphics department with the switch port. But at least it’s the full eternal experience unlike doom 2016 which has its entire portion of snap map completely removed. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
No-Man Baugh Posted April 16 Well neither of the ports are could streams, so props to the port team(s) for actually doing work to make them work natively on the switch and not selling prospective vaporware 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Agent Slacker Posted April 20 In my experience it's a damn miracle of a port that performs really well, with the only major framerate drops being during the larger fights in the DLC and Master Levels. Even then, it never dips to single digits, and it never goes below 20, only during cutscenes when played in portable mode. All of the content from the other ports is there, so you're not missing out on single player and multiplayer content. The graphics and resolution are downgraded sure, but the strong art direction picks up the slack, and it's never an incomprehensible pixelated mess. I can absolutely recommend it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Johnny B. Getgoode (The Guy) Posted April 20 Good? Yes The optimal way to play either game? Hell no. But they are playable and even enjoyable on the Switch at least. Also, Eternal is the better of the two. Yeah, the graphics are hugely downgraded, but it runs at a more consistent framerate than 2016, it actually has all the content, and the gyro controls are better than they were in 2016. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kyle07 Posted May 6 Without direct comparison to the PC version of 2016, I was very impressed by the switch port. It felt like, it is the PC version, just blurry. Later I saw I was wrong, but this shows how impressive the switch port is. I play sometimes on the switch the multiplayer against bots. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
InfinitePossiblities Posted May 20 I think so. It's the only version I've seen, and, so far, it's pretty competent. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
InfinitePossiblities Posted May 20 Just now, InfinitePossiblities said: I think so. It's the only version I've seen, and, so far, it's pretty competent. Not the only version I've seen. The only version I've played. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
