Is there anything a player can only do WITHOUT berserk?

Captain POLAND

Question

I got this silly idea for a joke map that forces you to pick up a Berserk pack, and then blocks your progression until it wears off, meaning you have to stay in the level for almost 4 years to complete it. But I don't know of any way to make it so that a level will only let you progress if you don't have the Berserk powerup. Is this even possible?

I don't see any point in doing that. I promise you that literally no human being, will ever, for any reason, keep your level running for four years.

So all you need to do is put a linedef the player cannot avoid in the path of your Berserk which lowers some kind of wall which blocks off your exit permanently. There is no practical difference between that and "wait four years for Berserk to wear off."

Punching a voodoo doll reduced to 20 or less HP to trigger a linedef via knockback without suffering death or undeath (see doomwiki for voodoo doll) effects would be something that can only work absent berserk, assuming fist is the only available weapon.

Well the idea is more along the lines of 'Someone plays the level, realizes they can't beat it without waiting for the Berserk to wear off, then quits and laughs at the joke'.

Berserk doesn't wear off though.

Yes, it does. It takes several years, though, so it's obviously intended to be effectively infinite.
