Question about starting new topics

Recommended Posts

A s1mple question.

Is it annoying to keep posting/starting new topics all the time? Like if I want to ask a question or post a doom wad immediately after posting a new topic, should I post it after a few days or am I just too shy or something? I dont like to be annoying or be spammy or be a b1tch or anything I like being called nice and friendly.

You should only start new topics if it's a entirely different wad. A update for a pre-existing wad must be posted on its own topic.

It's annoying if you aren't being genuine. If you ask a legitimate question or post a WAD you've been working on in the same day or within the span of a few minutes then no, it's not annoying, it's just being called an active member.

Only time it gets really annoying is when people post YT links with no additional info for the sake of promoting their channel. At that point you just look like a raving derelict shouting into the void. And honestly, nobody here is gonna respond with backlash. Worst thing that's gonna happen is everybody ignoring you.

So don't be that guy and you'll be fine. And for the record, you seem nice and friendly lol

Use the search first, both here and on your favourite search engine. There's barely a sensible question that hasn't been answered a million times in the past 30 years.

It's worth pointing out that you started a new thread to ask if you can keep starting new threads.

Just don't be like Hidden Hands on the ZDoom forums and you'll be fine.

Context: if you know, you know.

How annoying could it possibly be? It's a video game forum, just ignore it and move on if it sincerely annoys you...

No no, thats not how any of it is supposed to work.

Spoiler

I tried to pull a joke, but it didnt land.

This. But also, if you're feeling anxious that you might be coming across as excessive, there's always the option to read through some other topics and weigh in on them. There's also a ton of community-made levels, like probably more than one person could ever get through, and you can leave a review of any of them. Just make sure to adhere to any instructions that may be present in the TXT, because some levels are designed explicitly without the use of certain sources port features like free look, jumping, crouching, etc.. Those capabilities can easily trivialize content designed without them in mind.
