Gotta do my usual piece: why not MBF21? It's got everything Boom has to offer and more, so it's still accessible to people who are comfortable in their ways.

 

Not sure if UMAPINFO is relevant this time around, since the map count is going to be on the small side, but it couldn't hurt to bookend the set with some goofy end text if the mood strikes.

I'll freely admit that my knowledge of and experience with MBF21's capabilities is limited (old dog, new tricks and so on), but if folks would be keen to use it for this I have no qualms about switching gears.

The good news is the new features are pretty easy to learn -- they're documented here, and it builds on top of the Boom and MBF featuresets; just pick the MBF21 config in UDB and it'll all show up, alongside the Boom specials you're used to. It's not like the jump to UDMF or anything. :P

Well GZDoom still isn’t fully properly compatible with it, see example here (admittedly a niche case) https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/136983-rc3-jack-builds-a-techbase-4-maps-cl21/?tab=comments#comment-2794992

 

Not saying this shouldn’t be mbf21 for that reason, but one could run into GZDoom issues by selecting it.

How will music and mapname be determined?

 

I have access to a list to rival Schindler's of excellent mapnames, if it helps.

 

Also I guess i can do a map.

Quick question though. Can we make teleport closets outside of the 1024x space which teleport monsters into it?

For cases like these, the correct thing to do is open a bug report. GZDoom is under very active development -- if something's not working right, report it and it'll get fixed.
