yeah, but at the same time, I've literally never once put in that kind of effort off the jump. My whole thing is not caring much at all.

Yet you're currently leading a community project. Cool. Glad i didn't join that one

that's my exception. You need to put in effort in that case.

Seems like it's been going well.

If true, then fair enough. I haven't been following the project closely. Surely you can see why saying that you "literally" never put in any effort would leave a bad impression though.

That's probably not the best way to go about life. Won't get you too far in the long run.

Not to get all philosophical on you.

Oh yeah, I'm more than aware. Self-destructive urges get to me more than they should.

Kid, I have been mapping for three to four months over your three years and I can say that effort should be placed fully into what you make or else you're just gonna continue being infamous. This isn't 1996/1997 where mostly dogshit mapsets like Hell Revealed are praised and whatnot. Low quality does not bode well unless you do something extremely goofy.

I say this with the utmost seriousness: You can be better, you just have to be the one to do it.

That's the problem. If you're this self-aware?

Guess what? You're aware enough to put your best effort into things.

Not that this map is terrible by any means, I don't actually know, don't take this as a critique of the level itself, I've yet to play it.

The map could be fun, but who the hell is going to know if no effort is put in to present it? Really, it doesn't take too much work to make a thread w/ some screenshots visible in the OP.

You can use imgur to host as many images as you want for free!

Genuinely trying to help, here. Always try to put your best effort forward - that includes how you display your work.

Please attempt to listen to the people in this thread - honestly, if you made a new thread, that had screenshots, and some effort put into presentation - a ton more people will play your stuff. Which is what you want right?

Who wants to map into a void?

Hey, just so you know, it’s fine with me that you didn’t post screenshots. Be as lazy as you want. It seems some people are getting rude towards you and that’s the real silly thing. Cmon people. I thought the doom community was a bit more welcoming than that.

That said, screenshots just entice more people to play it. So if that’s your goal then yeah post some screens. And just be sure to let us know the comp level. Then do whatever u want with your life and don’t take life advice from people on this forum. Lol.

If you want to be taken seriously when you introduce a work of yours, you need to be serious and present the map with at least a couple of screenshots and a .txt file detailing every aspect of your map, if is made for Doom2, what source port, how many days/months it taken to build, what software, etc.

It has been for years the etiquette, so no.
