I've been joining way too many projects this year, but this looks fun so I'll take any slot in Episode 2. Maybe E2M3?

More progress on Arcade Doom Pt. 1! I finally worked on the exterior and additional areas, and admittedly it was a bit difficult, but I certainly enjoy the work! Arcade Doom Pt. 1 will be finished within a week!

E4M3 (Wicked Spirits) is ready for testing !! MIDI name's the same, UV-Max time is around 5 minutes.

 

@Quin Also, question - how'll you choose the MIDIs for maps which have overlapping ones (such as this and E3M3) ? I've made a custom MIDI for this map in particular, but if you prefer yours then you can choose that to override mine.

Great, thanks for the submission! Since this is a custom MIDI composed specifically for this project, I am obligated to use it, even if it overrides E3M3. Regarding the map, however, I am thoroughly impressed, yet I managed to find a few issues. Most importantly, the beginning assault (on UV) does not offer much protection against the heaviest of attacks (Caco projectiles, Cyberdemon rockets). While the difficulty of the beginning may be fit for Hell Revelations, a project you have already worked on, this is not what we are aiming for with this project. One suggestion is to provide basic armor on medium and hard skill levels. This idea, in my opinion, doesn't overwhelmingly affect what you are going for and supplies more leeway and accessibility for players. Alternatively, you can create rock platforms within the lava area for more player space. Outside of the beginning, Linedefs 82 & 85 are missing middle textures but it is only a simple fix. Additionally, fodder enemies, such as imps and shotgunners, are good enemies to blow off steam to with the rocket launcher and could give fun player and enemy interactions with all the open space in the second area. I'll provide a bulleted list of the issues for ease of access.

 

Important issues:

  • Linedefs 82 & 85 are missing middle textures
  • UV doesn't provide standard armor (or much space that isn't damaging floors)

 

Less important issues:

  • Could use more fodder enemies

Other than that, I have no other criticisms. Good map!

Applied the missing texture fixes, gave a green armour on UV at the start alongside a small marble platform, added some fodder after the start, alongside fixing a control sector.
