Is there a way to work on WAD's with others?

I'm working on a pretty ambitious wad, and while I CAN do it all myself, I'd very much rather not If I don't need to.

What I'd need is somebody who's able to create assets like enemies, Animated textures, Item Sprites etc. I've

only made a few so far, and it takes me FOREVER. Anyways yeah, is there a way to work on wad's w others, is that recommended, and if so, where do I find people?

The way is to send your WAD to someone else who is willing to work on it, and hope they're inclined to do so. It may be difficult to find someone who has the free time to create an entire game's worth of custom assets faster than you can do it - that is, unless you're willing to compensate them for their time.

 

There's a reason why people say to not go for your Magnum Opus Super Deluxe Amaze-o-Project as your first foray into modding, but instead to start out small and gradually build up your skillset. Shockingly, building an entire game's worth of custom assets is going to take some time to accomplish.

The thing in finding someone to join a team is basically twofold

• ask for help in a positive way
• publish something of your own work

and hope that it strikes a spark in a likeminded mapper. 

 

There are a few mappers who had formed a successful team, so chances are

that it may work for you as well. You just have to be positive and hope that your

project finds acceptance in someone's eye and mind..

 

There is a reason why some wads took months or even years to complete. It just

depends on your commitment, enthusiasm and tenacity to your project.

 

Again, first of all you have to show some of your own work (partial wad/s or video/s)

and ignite that enthusiasm in someone else to your cause and wants to work with you.
