All of these other map editors haven't been updated since the thing came out what are some other map editors in games that are actually being or have been updated in the last 5 years 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

DoomPlayer00 Posted May 11 BahKooJ on Youtube has been working on a level editor for Future Cop. Recent update added support for modding the PS1 version of the game. Example of a custom FC map: 5 Quote Share this post Link to post

DNSKILL5 Posted May 11 Doom is not the only game to have actively developed level editors but it is also not the only one to have tons of no longer supported utilities too. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Major Arlene Posted May 11 7 hours ago, Telehack said: All of these other map editors haven't been updated since the thing came out Are you talking about official SDK's or third-party editors? If it's official SDK's it's often because the development teams of those games are then sent to work on other things, if it's third party editors, it's probably because the team working on it probably didn't have support. anyways, as Kinzie mentioned, most retro FPS games with an active community will have some kind of working map editor. ROTT: Ludicrous Edition packaged its level editor in so we now have the ability to make good ROTT maps. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

All of these other map editors haven't been updated since the thing came out what are some other map editors in games that are actually being or have been updated in the last 5 years Every game usually has its own map editor, some built-in and some made by community. I know few games that has built-in editor but the game itself is rarely updated, but the game itself supports mods that adding new stuffs with its built-in scripts. The game forum itself quite inactive from around 2022 and last new mod released in 2022 too, so I think they exhausted every single possibility that game can offer and I kinda wanted to backup all the mods incase the game and forum closed. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doom64guy Posted May 12 Tomb Raider. At first there's only the official editor, but then there are a few unofficial editors made by fans. The most recent one, Tomb Editor, also come with a all-in-one engine (Tomb Engine) that combines the best parts of the classic Tomb Raider games. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

I believe the AMC Team works with an enhanced Mapster32. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Any perceived lack of evolution can be mostly put down to all three of the remaining Duke3D mappers being utter sickos for 90s UI design and reacting to modern UX innovations in much the same way as a vampire to sunlight. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

This is pretty much what is holding Duke Nukem 3D mapping back. The old guard mappers don't want to embrace change. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
taufan99 Posted May 20 Mario Builder 64 has just been released, and I'm reminded of this thread. I don't know if those are remappable, but I'd be happy to see a version of Mapster32 which has some of the shortcuts not rely on numpad keys. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
