Most people can't.

 

To be fair these lifts vary wildly in difficulty, for instance deadlifting your own bodyweight is trivial compared to even cleaning it, much less pressing it afterwards.

Gymbros having recently emerged in mainstream internet kinda tell you otherwise. Not that you're exactly wrong (most other internet users hold this "do whatever you want, live however you like" attitude, which I also do to a large extent), but you can see their presence is much bigger than it was years ago.

Since I'm in high school now, when I was in middle school, most people really didn't care. I mean yeah, doing lots of pushups was cool, but it wasn't a standard

It's because they eventually realized that you can use a computer to access other websites besides the Bodybuilding.com forums. Which is unfortunate, because that used to be one of the fucking funniest places on the internet. Now you have all these egomaniacs on social media salivating over one another's chadly muscles in front of everyone.

 

I don't know, I think it's all pretty stupid. I used to go to the gym but I'm not interested in becoming the Hulk. I enjoy cardio more than lifting. Gymbros can be cool sometimes, though. During Covid I used to see them giving each other vaccines in the locker room. I never even knew you could get the shot in your asscheek.

I prefer the latter but .. staying in pushup upper stance is also good.

Idk the English term for the move.

I never tried those as I’m afraid of them.  I can do 800 body weight squats though without rest.  1 arm pushups.. even the Rocky push-up where you jump and switch hands while still in 1 arm push-up position. Squats helped my back pain.

 

I have always wanted to get bigger, but I hit a plateau.  I was bullied in high school and I missed Freshman, Softmore, Junior, Senior years.  I was expelled  and had to do home studies for good for those years.  I still got my diploma even though I learned nothing.  I’m shure that changed and it’s alot harder now.

 

Mr. Freeze, I prefer to do them against a wall so no cheating.

Either that is a typo or you have the upper body of a regular dude and the lower body of a grasshopper.

No typo, I started with 20, took me 1 year.  It takes a hour to do all that.  I was heavily bullied.  Thank you for the tips.

I do it once a week, not everyday.  It takes a hour and 20-30 minutes, I don't do it quick so guess I'm not good at it.  I have a skateboard.. you need to squat to jump on it.  That motivated me, and because this back pain really sucks.. the squats once a week helped ease it down a little.

 

Mike Tyson did 2000+ squats a day in his prime when he was competing.

VICE, how about this??  1,000 push-ups in a row without stopping??  How did he do this??  thats way harder then squating..

Yeah, that averages to 9-10 seconds of rest between each one, that's enough time to cycle lactic acid and not what one has in mind when you say ''without rest''

Well, for starters, at the time signature you shared the video at, you can see his technique isn't perfect, and it's the same from the start...

See how the upper body leads and the legs follow, and then the shoulders rotate on lockout? He isn't pushing his entire body as a single rigid structure and he's exploiting some biomechanics to do it. Dude is shagging the floor as I call it.
You can also see his feet shuffling and his weight moving from side to side quite a lot.

 

That's more than I can do with that technique for sure, but this is not strict pushup form at all.

He's also dropping fast on the eccentric, letting gravity do the work, so catching a quick break on each rep.

I could do dozens of them and then I learned the proper form and that number dropped real quick. Anyway I never try them anymore, easier to just go to the gym and do bench than suffer with them.

Suffering builds the mind.  He must have a strong mind.  1,000 without rest.. I guess he was ment to do that?

I think you're missing the point everyone makes. You can see his reps aren't perfectly proper, especially at later preps.

Doing slow Missionary alone for 30 minutes requires a strong mind for sure.

Especially if there's a crowd.
